When we talk about inspiring Indian Businesses, Aditya Birla Group is a name that’s never missed. This Indian conglomerate has touched lives of millions of Indians spread across a plethora of diverse socio-cultural groups. We cannot go a day without being exposed to at least one of the many businesses running under the group. Ultratech Cement became a household name using smart slice of life marketing which captured the attention of Indian Consumers. The cement giant enjoys a large market share, impacting lives across the widely diverse geographical turf of India. One such turf is mine, where Ultratech was the first choice when it came to renovating my home.
From providing roofs above our heads, Aditya Birla Group has gifted us with the Vodafone Idea network, one of the most popular telecommunication network connecting Indians from the remote east to the sandy west. High speed Internet and phone calls that don’t break bank has opened up Indian markets to global businesses and improved the overall market scenario due to increasing competition. I have been a loyal user of the Vodafone Network and have experienced seamless network while I travelled to different states across India. To think about a situation where I cannot access such a facility is difficult considering how we have made our lives function around technology.
Talking in a narrower sense, Aditya Birla Group has brought some of the most popular fashion brands to the Indian Markets. Indian youth can access all the latest trends in their home country and gone are the days when we would have to admire such trends from our TV screens. The group’s diverse business initiatives has made Aditya Birla Group one of India’s most popular brand. Despite the mass popularity that the brand enjoys, it still takes pride in giving back without a monetary gain. Be it by adopting villages and fulfilling their development, or continuously taking steps towards sustainable development and reducing its carbon footprint. Aditya Birla Group has continuously given back to the country. It had added immense value to our economy and our lives.
If I have to talk about adding value, young adults like me who are somewhere in the middle of being students and professionals are continuously striving to be on top. We are in never ending race with anyone that’s ahead of us, professionally or personally. I am in one too. Surrounded by friends who had sorted out their future plans and carved out their journey, I went through a year being lost. A failed first attempt at MBA entrance and a job I settled for, was a major hit to my confidence since I was delusioned by my exceptional performance in school and college. My delusion made it difficult to realise the real competition that lies in the professional sphere. Being raised by a single parent all throughout my life added the extra pressure. I worked for a profile that didn’t interest me through the night, and slept through the day. Even after the time was reversed and I shifted from one profile to another, my mind was still stuck on the idea of being a part of one of the top B schools. To change my life around and to make a fresh start. I quit my job and gave into the preparation. I realised along the way the mistakes I made earlier. I realised my delusion. And I was determined to make this attempt count. And my preparation was fruitful. I was much more confident of my performance. It took a lot of courage to quit my job that helped me support my mother but she wanted my happiness and was supporting of my decision. I made my second attempt count and I am now a part of one of the prestigious B school in the country. If given a chance I don’t think I would like to change anything about my experience. Every failure gave me determination to do better. Immediate reaction was despair but it was momentary. I pushed through the circumstances and didn’t lose hope. Instead of undermining myself I became more aware of my competition and that’s how I have impacted my life and possibly my future.
