What defines success? Doing something outstanding? Being the best? Maybe or Maybe not. It’s subjective. Practically every other thing in these times of social media is highly subjective.
But, where does subjectivity start from? The Mind. But, here’s the irony. The human mind is one of the most objective things possible. It creates subjective thoughts but always knows what’s rational. My biggest challenge was to control my mind.
When I look for memories, my mind says I was bullied, I used to stammer, I never had guts to look up for my own. I was someone who never was close to my parents, in fact not close to anyone. All I was close to was my mind. My subjective experiments designed my learning. They crafted my ambitions and aspirations. Everything around me was subjective, I was the one who had to give it the shape as per my will. But, not everyone appreciated that society lashed out on me every single time. My objective mind blamed me every single time of being a mess and not being up-to-the society.
But today, when I stand in front of a mirror, I see myself as a confident man, who is a public speaker and stands up for whatever he feels is right. That is not because I gave up to the objective mind, but because I created a symphony of Objective with the Subjective. I painted the subjective canvas with multiple colours and objectively learnt and corrected each shade which felt out of place.
Maybe not perfect, but surely unique and in control of my art.

Behavioural Economics says that when it comes to registering memory in the brain, the duration is a dimension which takes a hit. It’s only a few peaks that stays within. No one would possibly recall the exact number of structures they crafted with those little LEGO pieces in their childhood. But, sure it’s easy to recall the joy of rebuilding a broken structure every single time because somewhere someone reminded us that “Meri banayi koi bhi cheez kissi se nahi darti, Kyuki mere paas takaat hai (Ultratech Cement).” Because it’s not in falling down that we understand the peak, but in getting up we do.
Today, maybe a one-rupee coin won’t matter much but the happiness of turning it into a silver coin with a pinch of hard work and a bit of what was left in a lunchbox was priceless (Freshwrapp). From coming under a realization that even ‘England’ can be made in India (Peter England) to stepping out in the real world with a crown around the wrist (Louis Philippe), we actually start figuring out somewhere that these were not just a few peaks, it was a promise, a trust that made sure no matter how psychology works, there are a few memories that always make you feel satisfied.
And when you finally comprehend all that, all you can say is, “What an Idea, Sirji!” (Idea).
