Being a Delhiite who experiences extreme heat and cold etc., which eventually increased my fashion sense which made me think about how clothes are made and what does it made of. For example the shirt we are wearing right now: what's it made from? In its rawest form, was it once growing in a field, on a sheep's back or sloshing at the bottom of an oil well?

According to a recent industry report Apparel industries currently account for 8 per cent of global greenhouse gas emissions and by the end of 2030 , it alone impact on climate change is forecast to nearly match today's total annual greenhouse gas emissions, emitting 4.9 gigatonnes of carbon dioxide equivalent. Being a fashion conscious and ecologically concerned citizen of this planet, I chose to equip my wardrobe with Louis Philippe, Allen Solly, Van Heusen and Peter England as their practice ecologically sustainable manufacturing processes like Louis Philippe’s ‘Evolve’ shirts are created using natural herbal and mineral dyes and Peter England ‘Oxygeans’ saves approximately 80 litres of water per pair of jeans through indigenously developed washing methods.

This has impressed me and made me a loyal consumer of these brands. Hope that they will come up with more such eco-friendly initiatives to lessen the burden on our environment.
