ABG group involvement, presence, and contribution in my life is so humungous and substantial that it is an integral part of my life because I’m from one of the families that belong to the ABG group. The group has its presence not only profit-oriented organizations but also in non-profit ventures, and its idea of business is greater than life.
I’ve spent my initial 20 years in a society entirely developed by Hindalco Industries one of the companies from Aditya Birla conglomerate and since childhood and it was my one-stop solution to each and every need from lifestyle, gaming, personal care, health care services, to banking services. Along with my father, 40,000 other employees are delighted and with the company since last 25 years which itself explains that it’s not just a business group that is existing to generate profits but also to create a life for people. Most importantly, I’ve completed my schooling from Aditya Birla School and wanted to pursue engineering only because the standards set by the group in the educational sectors.
It’s essential to understand here that it's the mainstream business isn’t in either healthcare or educational sectors, but then also it has continuously made considerable investments to bring ease, assortment in the life of their people. The first time when I stepped outside the ABG circle, then I realized people have to struggle for each and every basic amenities, facilities and services from electricity, water, television, hospitals and even for schools which were readily available for us and now definitely can say that people have a tough life outside the ABG domain. It’s an experience for my entire life, and till now, none of the brands or companies have touched my life so profoundly.
My contribution to building the Brand
During my graduation obviously, I didn’t expect to get the training opportunity under Hindalco Industries, but I got through by which I got my first Industry experience in various professional domains like production, technical expertise and assistance, quality controls, packaging, distribution, logistics and many more. Apart from the business skills, its strategy is also very differentiating from other ventures as the time is critical, guidelines and policies are strict and very much in the correct place. Security standards are very important when operating at such large scales, and the company benchmarks its security guidelines strictly adhered and followed, which keeps itself ahead from the league.
After completing my graduation once again, I got the opportunity to unite with ABG by working with Idea Cellular Limited. It was a feeling to be united again with my family but with a slight difference that this time, I was not on the receiving end rather than on the creating value in the business end. I didn’t take much time to inculcate the company’s vision, mission, and policies and started to work on the assigned projects after a month only. I got the necessary training for acquiring technical expertise as well as excellent performance awards also. This attitude marks the evidence that the same culture of valuing its employees is across all the business domains of the Aditya Birla Group. I’ve always felt that I was able to contribute with my time and expertise because it had the opinion that the company grows itself when its employees grow.
My senior managers were very supportive and approachable all the time to constantly let me learn as well as perform due to which only I was able to manage operation and maintenance of 2G and 3G services and at the same time equally participate in the 4G launch. The company was very competitive at that time and didn’t let the competitors woo their business and launched 4G within six months after the pilot investments with me and my team. My whole team was very cooperative on my career objectives to study further and helped me to align the professional goals with personal objectives. I’m still very thankful to all the people and the group as a whole for impacting all phases of my life, and I’m very hopeful for again getting an opportunity to work with Aditya Birla Group and have a life-long association.
