When did rural families of our country start moving in their pucca houses? Since I lived in a rural area of Bihar, I would say it started in the early years of this century. I had seen that when I was growing up. Impact of Globalization had finally reached the villages.

I remember my visit to our newly constructed house in my village when I was 10 years old. As an intuitive child, I asked a lot of questions to my father. When I saw bags of UltraTech cement, I asked a very generic question.

"Father, why you chose UltraTech? "

My father smiled. Rather than giving me a direct reply, he said you will find it yourself. He couldn't be more correct.

Later in life, I moved to Patna for higher studies. "Idea Cellular" was the only reliable network I could trust for calling my family members. With its fast Internet speed, I was able to explore unlimited resources from the Internet, which contributed a lot to my JEE preparation.

I admit that till then, I did not know about Aditya Birla Group. I think that is how ABG works. Working behind the curtains, it has changed millions of lives. When I read about ABG and story of its founder Seth Shiv Narayan Birla, it was then that I remembered my father's reply. The group had not only won the hearts of millions of rural Indians back then, but it also helped them live their dreams. The group is currently working in 2500 villages. It is solving sanitation, water and energy issues in these villages. As a person who believes in Bapu's words that the soul of India lies in its villages, I would like to thank the ABG group for transforming rural India.
