Aditya Birla Group is one of the biggest Indian conglomerates which has been affecting lives of people not just today, but since the time India got independence. It has paved into the life of many people seamlessly. Aditya Birla’s fashion and retail business is a ‘way of life’ for me when it comes to deciding for apparels for any sort of occasion. Be it their crisp women formal wear at Van Heusen and Allen Solly, comfort fashion and style at Forever 21, or the one stop place for shopping for the entire family- Pantaloons, these brands have been a part of my life at every stage through school to college to corporate.
It has paved its way into my life via its aluminium foil paper brand – Freshwrapp. Freshwrapp’s foil is so much a part of my family and my life that foil’s new synonym for us is ‘Freshwrapp’. It helps keep food fresh, warm and is easy to use.
While talking about this, I can’t ignore the most crucial way it impacts me through Vodafone Idea Limited. Through its great network coverage and super-fast 4G, it keeps me connected with my near and dear ones. Besides that, it provides superior customer service.
The group and its brands are a major part of my lifestyle and are affecting me 24*7 in some way or the other. The group aims for building Customer lifetime value through its loyalty programs in fashion business and superior customer service throughout all the brands. This is what has made me stick to all its brands and this is how the group is big in my life.
‘Talent wins games, Teamwork wins championships’ - How I fought through the challenges
Each challenge that you face in life builds you, makes you and strengthens you for life. It doesn’t matter how big the challenge is or at what stage of life it hits, it tweaks your character in a positive way. Having represented Chandigarh at national level for carrom, I faced one such challenge. It was the performance of the entire team that decided the winner of the championship. The first few players in the initial fixtures lost their matches and thus started a blame game. The entire team thus started getting demotivated because of the badly timed criticism of a few. This made me realise importance of team and how important it is to go ahead as one team. Seeing the team morale dwindling, I called all the members aside and reinforced in them the sense of unity and the power of growing together as a team. Besides that, it made me learn that in the end it matters how you go ahead taking all others along with you and how great can be the impact of mental support on your members. This support ultimately led us to win the remaining matches and stand fourth in the championship.
This helped me learn the not just about importance of a team, but also about human psychology and interpersonal skills. Having learnt it an early stage in life, I have carried this learning with me throughout my entire academic and professional journey. Creating a culture of ‘blame game’ anywhere creates toxicity, inhibits new ideas and makes a person be afraid of criticism. Unity builds productivity, morale and collaborated innovation.
