Aditya Birla Group has been the greatest conglomerate in India. Not only do the numbers support the fact, but the age-old experience with over 162 years of inception in the Indian market makes it the most successful company. As a child, my first thought about Aditya Birla Group had always been their strong presence in the cement industry – Ultratech Cement. As I grew up, I got to know many products I have been using in my daily life belong to Aditya Birla Group.
Since childhood, my mother packed lunch food for school in Freshwrapp foil. Till date, I visit pantaloons regularly to shop for the best brand of clothes. It gives me the right choices for all apparels that I need. Also, since a last few years, Louis Philippe and Van Heusen have been my go-to brands to buy formal clothes, especially their exclusive variety of suits.
I have been using Vodafone as my telecom operator since the past 12 years, and I am happy to be associated with the Vodafone Idea Limited partnership. I have indirectly come across many of the brands and companies of ABG such as Hindalco, Grasim industries, it’s textile and financial services business, and the list would go on..
The fondest memory of using an ABG product will be the Allen Solly winterwear that my mother had gifted my dad on his birthday 15 years ago. It might be little shocking, but I still use that overcoat in the chilly winters of Delhi. That’s how great Aditya Birla Group is.
Part B: Challenges in the road to success and beyond
I was not a man of many ambitions since childhood. My motto had always been to excel in whatever task I am performing. Slowly I understood that even if I excel in those tasks, it won’t ever make me stand out or unique. I, thus, changed my perspective and started thinking differently.
I really wanted to crack IIT-JEE exam after 10th Class, and I decided to go from Mumbai to Kota for 2 years. It was one of the major decisions of my life. I never knew what was in store for me for the next couple of years, but I took the step thinking about the big picture – IIT. Even after working hard for those 2 years, I could not crack JEE exam and it was a big setback for me. But that didn’t deter me from going forward. I did my engineering from MIT, Manipal. After failing several interviews, I finally got into one the top MNCs. While working there, I started studying for the MBA entrance exams.
After months of hard work and dedication, I was able to crack CAT with 98.xx percentile and 99+ percentiles in NMAT, SNAP, CMAT, IIFT, Maharashtra CET. I finally got into one of the most desired B schools in India – DMS IIT Delhi. There was a sense of achievement and relief after this success. Achievement because I hadn’t achieved this big before in life, and relief because of the number I failures I had encountered. But it doesn’t mean I cannot expect any kind of failure in the times to come. I have been staying out of my home since the past 11 years, been through many difficult situations and ready to face all of them, knowing the learnings these situations present!
