Aditya Birla Group Conglomerate headquartered in Mumbai, India is a name that resonates around the business world for its variety of products ranging from Textile to cement industries. The Group was established in 1857 by Seth Shiv Narayan Birla. The Ultra Tech cement which is a product of Aditya Birla Group holds a key position in cement industry. Recently, my home underwent renovation process so I had to look out for raw material. I had to really search the market for hours for other products, but when it came to cement, Ultra Tech cement was the obvious choice. Also when it comes to fashion, I look for one stop shop, so again Pantaloons is the clear choice which again is an Aditya Birla Group multi brand fashion retail chain. Also, the quality of its various in-house brands such as Louis Philippe, Allen Solly, Van Heusen, Peter England is the best that one can find in the fashion market. I personally am very fond of the products offered by these fashion chains. I vividly remember that in 2011 when my father bought me a new phone, the first thing that I did was to get a network connection and I looked no further than Idea Cellular Network. The faith that is imposed by the common people in Aditya Birla Group is rightly so, because it’s a brand that people have trust and rely upon, due to its years of legacy.
In February 2014 during my undergrad, I decided to organize a 2 day ethical hacking workshop for the better understanding of the subject by fellow students. But for that we needed the best trainers of the industry and obviously they would have a fee which needed to be paid. Our college professors were extremely supportive of this initiative and gave a go ahead. But still the problem persisted as to where would the fee will be paid. To solve this issue I decided to come up with a strategy that was to charge students a nominal fee and the funds thus raised shall be used to pay the fees. But then, fellow students count was not enough to raise the required funds. So what we decided was to promote this event outside the perimeters of the college and invite students from other colleges as well. For the next 2 weeks we promoted this event in other colleges of the university which required extensive marketing themes. Attractive and Information based posters were printed to attract the crowd for the cause. Other than this simultaneously we also handled how the event operations will be handled, each and every intricate detail was given utmost attention so that no unnecessary issues occur while the workshop is underway. All the paperwork formalities were also taken care of by the team, at the same time the accommodation of industry experts who were to visit the campus , was also handled efficiently by the team. Finally, on the event’s eve when we checked more than 200 students had registered by then. Our strategy had worked and helped us in two ways, First, we were able to raise the funds for the event without the college’s financial support and Secondly, when we promoted the event outside the walls of the college , many more students joined the workshop than would have joined if we were to held this just for the college students. So in a way, much more students were benefited.
Finally on the Day 1 of the workshop 210 people attended the workshop which was way beyond our initial expectations. The 2 day workshop offered a lot to be learnt by the students of a various colleges and at the same time it was an fin filled and interactive session. This incident helped me to boost my confidence that any problem can be solved by using a creative approach.
