The well-being of society influences and defines my well-being. And Aditya Birla Group has been a pioneer in working for the welfare of society. ABG is one of India’s oldest and 3rd biggest conglomerate and is known for its ethics and values. It has been shaping and improving the lives of people all over the globe on a daily basis while venturing into 35 countries and 13 high-value sectors with almost 1.2 lakh employees. But what the Aditya Birla Group is doing for the sustainability, well being of the people is unparalleled, its dedication for CSR activities, working for the marginalized sections of the society is breathtaking. No domain of public welfare has been missed by the ABG group.

In field of healthcare, It takes care of more than 1 million people annually in 5000 medical camps and 20 hospitals. Over 5,000 physically challenged persons have been provided with artificial limbs making them self-reliant, helped immunize 70 million children against polio over the last 7 years. Mother and Child Healthcare projects serve 100,000 women and their children every year. India has a great advantage in terms of a potential demographic dividend and ABG is trying to prepare a quality workforce for India by providing quality education at 56 schools across India, providing education to 46,500 children, conducting a skills and personality development program for 400 children from the urban poor/slum households. ABG has also set up the midday meal kitchen in the Keonjhar district of Odisha, facilitating the provision of midday meals to 63,000 children in 268 schools every day. 4,500 Self-Help Groups have led to the empowerment of 45,000 women who now earn between Rs.3,000 to Rs.7,000 a month. ABG is also working for developing infrastructure across India, they have helped to build community halls, school blocks, playgrounds, approach roads, solar lights, water harvesting structures, installed hand pumps, facilitated village drainage systems, impacting the lives of nearly 500,000 people and have installed more than 1,000 biogas plants pan India. They engaged in creating model villages in rural India. This is a game-changing transformative project for which they have chosen 300 villages.

What ABG is doing for the society is an inspiration for me and I dream to be part of that noble cause and this is how ABG has impacted me.

I always have a thought for doing something for the underprivileged section of our society. My graduation college gave me an opportunity for the same.  I worked for an NGO named Kartavya, which is envisioned to uplift the marginalized citizenry living in the slum by providing them quality education, vocational training, and healthcare. The mission is to educate a generation so that our human capital can be converted into economic capital and the best advantage of our demographic dividend can be taken.

I was part of the academics team at Kartavya where I taught mathematics to 7th and 8th standard students then I joined field team which involved taking care of social/family issues of students, healthcare and hiring local tutors.

I am determined to keep up my motivation for the welfare of the society in every way possible. Looking forward to work with social responsibility clubs of MDI, Gurgaon and make a positive impact on the society.
