Thinking of what mobile network to choose? Well, I have an IDEA for you. Similarly, for any service or product that you'd want to look for, Aditya Birla Group will be there for you with its wide range of products and services. It is almost surreal as to how many lives Aditya Birla Group touches everyday. Not a day passes by when you haven't used something provided by ABG or interacted with someone who's using the provision. Which just goes to show that its affecting out lives massively and we'd be paralyzed if these products and services hadn't been at our disposal.

I have been out shopping for formals quite a few times in the past few months as I stepped into the crazy phase called MBA. My first choice, even without having a second thought was always Peter England. The hardest part though, has been choosing from the classic range of apparels that they have. Peter England also has nostalgic value to it, since I’ve seen my father wearing it for the biggest days of his life. So it in turn, just makes me feel like I am growing up and slowly becoming the person I would’ve liked myself to be, who in a lot of ways is similar to his father. The brand, thus holds a lot of emotional value to it. Over and above all this, a Peter England shirt is like a warm hug from the past which gives you confidence to face the present. It does not let you get worried of how you are carrying yourself and always helps you make a good first impression.

We have taken all these brands to inevitably be a part of our life. This has shown us how consistency and the drive to excel can make a brand such a huge part of our life. My key learning from ABG would definitely be its consistency and desire to excel, which I plan to incorporate in my life as well.

Overcoming Challenges :

After I was done with my bachelor's from Bombay College of Pharmacy I had a realization that I wanted to work for something bigger than me. Hence, I applied for the Teach for India fellowship. After going through a rigorous selection process I had the opportunity to teach 60 8th graders residing in the slums of Malwani, Mumbai studying in a low income private school. Initially I was shocked to see the academic levels of the kids, but then I detached from that and started trying various approaches to tackle with the difficult situation I was in. However I could overcome very few challenges and realized that I couldn't do this alone. But at the same time I've always considered myself as someone who works alone.

So I had to shed my inhibitions and reach out to other fellows who were facing the similar kind of context specific issues. That is when I understood the power of collaboration and the efficiency with which it produces results. At a later stage I started collaborating with more stakeholders and that has been a lot of learning. The power of collective is huge. From then to this day I've consciously worked towards making collaboration and relationship building a strength. This has immensely helped me in the past and still helps me in the work I do. My ambition was for them to continue with their education after 10th and they just yesterday I got calls with them telling me that they’ve secured admission into junior college.

In essence, I try to be objective about the problem faced, whether professional or personal, and look at what the bigger picture has to say. This usually helps me channelize my energy and I stop bothering about the small details that were affecting my efficiency. This way I keep striving towards my own definition of excellence.
