Part A - In today’s world of globalization, being surrounded by an enormous number of brands and companies, it is difficult to point out indigenous players in the market. However, Aditya Birla Group is not a name unheard of in Indian households, being the third largest conglomerate in India. Some of the ones closest to me are Idea cellular, Pantaloons and UltraTech cement. To me, each of these names are synonymous to the trust and reliability that resonates with the heart of millions around the world. They make their presence felt in my everyday life in various forms, be it the clothes I wear, my communications, the buildings around me and my finances. Their international presence also significantly contributes to the income of the country. Delving deep into their offerings I realized the massiveness of their presence in my life. Their fashion portfolio caters to a wide variety of segments.  Having admired the Bandra-Worli sea link during my past one year at Mumbai cements that trust in me. Ranging from the aluminium in my smartphone, the trains that I travel in to the electricity in my home. Their efforts to uplift the society, providing food, education and medical services to villages working alongside the government as well as uplifting the women in the country and giving them the confidence to earn their own living is a boon to the nation. Getting to know the role ABG plays in my life leaves me with nothing but wonder and makes me realize how big is BIG! It is a source of inspiration to the whole world.

Part B - There are two ways in which a person deals with challenges. First, somehow managing to get past it, and the second, to face it, learn from it and emerge a better person after completing it. After joining SJMSOM, I got a very different flavour of what life can be. Facing minor challenges is now a trivial part of everyday life where success is not assured. Realizing the complementary nature of the values such as happiness and sadness have helped me trust myself and gain the courage to get up again with every failure and smile back to the difficulties in front of me. I believe, the quicker I accept my failures, the faster I can get back on my path of achieving a goal. What has helped me in tough situations is the belief that my family and friends have in me. It reminds me of the ability that I possess and provides me with the motivation to make use of it rather than feeling defeated. I am currently on my first solo trip, that too across the Europe during which I have had a lot of ups and downs including bag damages, monetary losses, missed buses and what not. At such times, it is that courage, that belief I have in myself that has kept me smiling all along. It is that confidence that helps me to be assured about my decisions. Afterall, isn’t this exactly what life presents to us? A combination of the choices we make all the time?
