Aditya Birla Group(ABG) is a premium global conglomerate originating in Mumbai about 160 years ago. Since then it has constantly raised its own bar and has become one of the most respected companies across the world.
The products of the Aditya Birla group are so intertwined with my memories of growing up, that it is impossible to separate the two. From watching the Ultratech cement advertisements constantly during the advertisement breaks on the television to visiting the Louis Philippe store with my father, ABG has always been a constant.
My first mobile phone connection was from Idea. The little piece of yellow plastic is so vivid in my memory and I remember the thought of being able to call my friends from my mobile bringing me so much joy.
As time passes, ABG has only grown in my life. My wardrobe is filled with clothes from its Fashion subsidiary. I remember wearing a suit from Allen Solly to all of my B-school interviews. It had made me feel confident and made me feel that I would fit into the world of management professionals. That is how ABG makes me feel - confident and assured.
I have learnt over the years how big their impact is. Their cement is used in the buildings we reside in. The carbon black they produce is used in our car tyres. The aluminium and copper of Hindalco Industries is used in automobile manufacturing and railway electrification. A huge majority of the Indian population uses their telecom services.
If we sit and take all of this into account, that is a huge impact on the modern day Indian. ABG has imprinted itself onto our lives so heavily, that a world without it is unimaginable.
