Why is Aditya Birla Group big in my life?

"An idea can change your life" uttered the voice in a Vodafone-Idea advertisement as I was switching channels on my television. It was as simplistic as a statement could be and as impactful as it can get. In addition to the multitude of products the big conglomerate offers, Aditya Birla Group always endows us with the brilliance of its ideologies.

What started as a cotton trading venture back in 1857 in Rajasthan, now spans over 35 countries.  A Fortune 500 corporation with revenues touching US$ 44 billion, it is taking India to the world. The group's infusion in our life can be reckoned by just taking a look at the diversification of its products.

I remember visiting Planet Fashion to get my formal attire labeled ‘Peter England.' Just like any other kid, I thought it to be an English brand only to be corrected by my father. From fashionable clothes of Pantaloons to ‘all that you need' in More supermarkets, it has made my life enjoyable and convenient.

I remember the times when loads of UltraTech cement bags got unloaded from the truck during the renovation of my home. I see the cityscapes and think of what all efforts would have been put to build this beautiful panorama. That is the presence of ABG in our lives. It nurtures people, it dresses us, it lets us visualize the best version of ourselves, and it gives back to society through its CSR activities. In a nutshell, the name of ABG speaks for itself, and it is big!

How I overcame challenges to achieve my ambitions in life so far?

I believe all of us, as children, would have heard the story of an ant which successfully climbed a wall after repetitive failures. It won't be wrong to assume that most of us face various challenges at various points in our lives and often fail, only to get up the next time. Out of these experiences, some become special. For me, it occurred during my graduation.

I, with my friends, started a solar car team at my college. Aspiring to set the trend for the next generation of vehicles in our college, we put in a lot of effort to get the team under innovative projects in the college. To lay a strong foundation for the team, we took part in a solar car challenge which called for participants across India. We built the car, inch by inch, putting every piece together, but in the sense of urgency as the competition was very close. The pressure was high as it was our big debut, and the day before we were to leave for the race, the motor broke down during test-driving. It was five in the morning, and we did not know what to do. Being the Electrical head, it was my responsibility to keep our hopes up for which we all had worked for a long time. After a nap, we called the organizers who told us to get the motor in Delhi. As we were short on funds, we also relied on sponsorship to acquire as much help as we could get. We fixed the car anyway and took part in the competition. Though we could not win the race, we didn't give up. Our junior teammates participated for the next two years and won it two times in a row.

In my opinion, challenges are like stepping stones and if we are ambitious, they will lead us to what we desire to be.
