ABG has a wide array of products to offer which impacts our lives positively in every sense. ABG offers us all those products which we may not pay attention to but use frequently in our routine life. From getting my food wrapped in the aluminum foil to wearing a suit in my brother's wedding, I feel ABG products have been an integral part of my life. They have given me memories which I can cherish forever.

The fashion and retail enterprise of ABG has been one of the most popular in India and all over the world. I feel nostalgic to the time when my father gifted me a Peter England suit for my college farewell. It  wasn’t just a suit rather it was a token of love, responsibility, realization and transition (my metamorphosis from being a teenager to a responsible adult). The suit is still with me and whenever I wear it I can feel the warmth.

A Subsidiary of ABG called Hindalco, is one of the largest Aluminium and copper manufacturing company and is also the biggest producer of aluminium in Asia. Aluminium, combined with other alloys is widely used in Automobile and Machinery equipment. I remember when we brought out first car my family was overwhelmed and we developed an emotional attachment with the car. We use to take the best care of it and go on trips during summer vacations.

Our family has been traditionally farmers. Farming requires a lot of heavy machinery e.g Tractors and farming equipment’s to do our work efficiently and thereby improving the quality of crops produced. Therefore, the ABG subsidiary has been an indirect contributor to our farming practice, making our work easy and also adding to our income.

ABG group is one of those few Conglomerates who believes in bringing a special to their products through research and innovations. They have a vision of building business on integrity and humane values. This is something I appreciate the most and would like to incorporate in my social and professional life as a Manager. I hope this helps me in the long run and I am able to contribute to the betterment of the weaker sections of our society.

How Have I Made An Impact

Good things never comes easy. It takes discipline, determination and a lot of faith in your abilities to achieve something meaningful in life. Any story worth telling is based on the foundation of passion and persistence, spending hours failing and pushing yourself to do it. It takes courage to go through immense mental and physical stress; unending efforts to sail through challenging situations.

My love for Basketball knows no limits. I remember when I was appointed captain of my college basketball team. It was an opportunity which made me nervous and excited at the same time. I had a dream to win a basketball tournament for college under my captaincy and maintain the legacy.

The coming days were not easy for anyone. But the whole team was determined to practice hard. The hardwork was strenuous, yet despite the exhaustion, everyone turned up at 6am in the morning for daily practice. I planned the drills to practice with the team together and also focussed on improving weaknesses of individual players by working with them personally.

There were tournaments where we made silly mistakes and came back dejected and also where we played extremely well but didn’t achieve the desired results. Yet, there was a learning with every match and every tournament. The goal mattered enough to us to keep fighting the odds together, to start afresh every time we failed. And finally, the big moment arrived. We won the Annual Basketball tournament of Symbiosis centre for Management Studies(Symperia-17). It was a very emotional and memorable moment for everyone in the team.

Over time, I learnt the most valuable lesson of life from basketball. It taught me dreams don’t come true from mere focus and determination. It comes from losing at something again and again till you start winning at it. It comes from not giving up when it seems unbearable and easiest to do so.
