250 words on how ABG has touched my life.

I could write a magnum opus here.

Does ABG fulfill dreams? Definitely.

How so?

Let me start.

When Akshay Kumar comes down the elevator in Venetian in Macau, the place went straight down my bucket list. But it was also kind of a farfetched dream.

During my third year of graduation, Papa once called and asked if we wanted to travel to Macau.

A pleasant surprise.

Yes, the annual dealer tour of Ultratech Cement rolled out and Macau was one of the destinations.

Ah yes! My dad works at Ultratech Cement.

For the past 18 years.

That’s a big number.

That’s loyalty.

He takes pride in being associated with ABG.

Yes, the work is tremendous. After all, they are the market leaders. I remember Birla Plus changing into Ultratech Cement and the efforts that everyone put into the transition.

But along with it came satisfaction. I wish to find that in my life.

Back to the story.

My sister is a big-time fan of “Taarak Mehta Ka ooltah Chashmah”. In one of the seasons, they visited the Hong Kong Disneyland.

The smile on Honey’s face when I took her picture with Mickey Mouse in Hong Kong was priceless!

Like every other mother, my mom finds her happiness in ours. I could see the joy in her eyes while seeing me dancing when papa told me that I might be considered for the Pratibha Scholarship. I could see the pride when papa announced that he did the highest ever sale, again. And I could see how pleased she was when Honey told that she got accepted into Christ, Bengaluru.

So, this is my sweet little world.

My family.

An article on how big ABG is in my life.

Well, it filled mine with happiness.

Connected dots of failure and the picture looks great.
Its time to fill colour!!

India is a beautiful place to live in, provided you are financially stable. Money is the biggest issue here. Well, I come from a well-off family, so I had an enjoyable childhood. I never faced much hardship. I was a bright student, always on the top of my class and got into a good university.

Amidst all this happy sailing, what I could not achieve was good health.

By the age of 19, I was over 250 pounds. I used to go for evening walks or swimming but could not get any results out of it. I even tried dieting, but of no use. In my mind, losing weight was next to impossible.

I used to love playing badminton, was in my school team and was hoping to be a part of my college team.

I was rejected by the coordinator on the very first day.

I tried to convince him to at least give me a chance, but my stature made him confident about my failure.

It was then I truly decided to reduce my weight. I controlled my diet, hit the gym regularly and worked along on my skills in badminton. 8 months down the line, I lost 65 pounds, got selected into the team and later became the coordinator in my third semester.

I was amazed.

This was the first-time exercise worked out for me.

Analyzing the whole situation, I figured out that there are two lessons to be learned.

Until you give 100 percent, you can’t achieve anything.

And to give your 100 percent, your heart should be in the right place. Only then can you get your priorities straight.

Now, whenever I decide to do something, I ask myself why I want to do it, and if I get a lucrative answer, I prepare a game plan and then start working on it.
