There is someone in everyone's life, whom they look up to. In my life, he is my brother. His personality and all-round acumen inspire me every day. He has inspired me to look into a career in management in my undergraduate years. But the journey to a B-school was not easy and was paved with challenges at each junction.
Coping up with my studies as well as preparing for my applications to the b-schools was one of the most crucial challenges I faced as an engineer in making. The art of time management was one of the first things the entire process taught me. Juggling between academics, committees, competitions and on top of that preparing for b-school entrances gave me a mild realization of what I was about to face in a b-school. It was exhausting but exciting at the same time.
My brother, my family, and friends have been my backbone of moral support throughout the journey. At times, when I was on the verge of giving up, it was their faith in me that kept me pushing towards my goal. Being an extrovert and active participator, it was a challenge for me to miss out on so many things during my preparations. The gleam of hope and the dream of being in a b-school kept me going.
Finally, after joining a b-school it feels like it was all worth it. Sure it’s not easy to survive in the rigor of a b-school but keeping us on our toes and letting us through this intensive curriculum, provides us just a taste of the corporate world that awaits us outside the gates. I like to think the entire journey as a simulator preparing us for our future. We learn from our mistakes, push ourselves forward but the most important thing is to never stop trying. This attitude helped me through to overcome the challenges I faced in my journey to a b-school.
