‘Why Aditya Birla Group is big in your life?’

When posed with the above question, my first reaction was, “Is it?”. Of course I was aware about the various areas in which the Aditya Birla Group has its presence, but the question was did it affect my life. Naturally, like any other millennial, my reflex was to do a quick Google search only to land up on ABG’s website. I was greeted by a video of a suited giant man, personifying the Aditya Birla Group, touching people’s lives in ways, big and small, through the multitude of products they offer. As it turns out we often don’t realise the impact of organisations like these on our everyday lives, as though they are hidden in plain sight. To do a rethink-  right from the cement with which our houses are built, the bright pink “liva” tag that I look for in clothes as a guarantee of the softest material I would find, the foil I wrap my food in, the clothes I wear, the tyres of the vehicles I travel by, the roofs we live under, the network that lets us communicate with friends and family far away- it is present in all spheres of life, some just more conspicuous than the others. The presence is only set to expand as I grow up to take more decisions in life since it is a brand I would trust in terms of quality when asked to choose from a bevy of options. Every business starts out with the dream of touching people’s lives in its own small way, but it is only some that are able to do so in a manner as remarkable as the Aditya Birla Group does.

‘How you overcame challenges to achieve your ambitions in life so far?’

Every stage of our lives presents us with challenges that seem insurmountable at those points in time. But the fact that we’re all here, still battling our demons to live our lives and fulfil our dreams is proof that there’s always a way. I’ve had my share of challenges as well, both on the personal and professional fronts. Growing up in a small town in Madhya Pradesh gave me very limited exposure to the world. My extended family was more on the conservative side when it came to girls pursuing higher education. Being a high performing student right from the start to hitting a low during my vulnerable teenage years due to enormous expectations and even today, living in a city that is absolutely unknown to me only so I can fulfil my professional ambition. But these seem like challenges only when I think of them that way. To me, they were just roadblocks on my way to my dreams. Sometimes, they made me break, sometimes they made me want to give up. But I've always believed when the why is clear, the how is easy. Yes, life does throw challenges at us, but only to teach us lessons we need to learn, to make us stronger. We aren’t wise enough to realise that then, but in retrospect, more often than not, we wouldn’t have it any other way.
