Aditya Birla Group is a mammoth organisation in itself. It’s worth and value is known well among the corporates. The diverse portfolio of companies and renowned brands it has in its kitty is unmatchable. Each one of us uses or must have used one or the other product of ABG knowingly or unknowingly. Personally, from my life I can tell that my wardrobe collection has almost three fourth of ABG brands which include Allen Solly, People, Peter England and Van Heusen. Every odd month my friends and peers land into Pantaloons to revive their wardrobe collection, which provides a very reasonable and dynamic collection in family apparels sector. If you have canned drinks then you would be surprised to know that every 2nd can that you drink comes from the house of Aditya Birla Group, not even this the sewing needle that your mom must be using to stitch the old clothes might be from this giant only. Apart from this ABG is a leader in construction, automotives, packaging, electrical, consumer durables, refractories, ceramics and what not. UltraTech Cement which again comes from the house of ABG is the largest manufacturer of cement in India and ranks among the world’s leading cement makers and of course it is present in every inch of my house!

Apart from holding such diverse portfolios ABG has never forgotten its responsibilities towards the society and mother nature and hence practices sustainable, eco-friendly growth strategies; That’s what distinguishes it from the other behemoth corporations. And all this fairly sums up why Aditya Birla Group is big in my life.

Never fall back, Life has better alternative for you!

I come from an Army background. My father served the Indian Army for almost 30 years and that is why since childhood I had a strong inclination toward joining either of the three forces. Post my schooling, I tried for NDA twice but could not convert the opportunity. In my first attempt I got rejected on the 1st day itself because of my nervousness / over-consciousness and the second time I got out on the final day on medical grounds. I was shattered and devastated at that moment when it got clear that I cannot join any of the forces because of the myopic vision, which went out of tolerance limits.

I realised that there is no point mourning behind the thing that I can’t change and so I joined an engineering college, but it wasn’t any ‘IIT’. I felt as if I haven’t achieved anything in life and that hunger was getting stronger inside me. Post my engineering I got descent opportunity to work with one of the senile banks ‘Bank of New York Mellon’ where I served for around two years. Post BNY Mellon, I got a huge opportunity to work for the world’s third largest bank with the capacity of a senior software engineer. Life was going well but still my hunger wasn’t satisfied rather it got intensified and after working for around a year more I realised, what was supposed to be my next leap. I started preparing for CAT while continuing my corporate journey. Year later the day arrived when I got a call from a management institute, and this time it was an ‘IIM’. Indeed, there was a proud feeling inside with a pinch of satisfaction.
