Why Aditya Birla Group is big in your life.
A new milestone sets off when a vision is comprised with a dream. It helps our lives become richer with love and laughter. Everything we see around us today is connected to technology, innovation and development. Peeping out of the window to the heavily crowded road, I came to a realisation that what’s big is massive, microscopic, indispensable, a lifeline, all about great style and fashion, about connecting people around the world, and for everyone! And therefore, it’s big in our lives.
One of such big cluster of business is the Aditya Birla Group. From being a world leader in Aluminium, to being a global leader in carbon black, to extending its wings in the sectors of fashion and technology, metal industry, networking, telecom connectivity and internationally for over 7.5 million people across geographies, with employees of 42 different nationalities in 34 countries; the Birla group has shown the world its way. Retailer brands like Allen Solly and Peter England are introduced in India. The Ultratech Cement, has always made construction easier. Moreover, the famous Hindalco plant got its name from the ABG group. Also, it provides financial support through its finance arms.
To conclude, Aditya Birla Group has broadened its spectrum of opportunities and facilities to people in India and abroad, thus reaching new heights. Its success in the fields of carbon nano particles, as well as black carbon is remarkable. Moreover, its innovation process is still on for some better discoveries. Therefore, being an MBA candidate and working on an article over a brand like this makes me feel more enthusiastic and inquisitive to know more about the brand itself. Also being a metallurgical and material science engineer, working in a work environment like that of Hindalco has always intrigued me. Hopefully, this sets a mark in my future endeavours.
How you overcame challenges to achieve your ambitions in life so far.
A famous saying says, ”If your first instinct is to run away from failures, then perhaps you are doing it the wrong way.” This is Mr. Kumar Mangalam Birla‘s mantra to deal with failures. Failure is not fatal. Failure is inevitable. If you don’t fail, it perhaps means you aren’t taking enough risks! Challenges are always a part and parcel of life. It is our attitude towards overcoming those challenges, that leads us to achieve our ambitions in life. According to me, optimism and the art of positive thinking is the ultimate game turner.
As a little kid, I was always inquisitive towards being a powerful people motivator and managing people. During my school and college days, I participated in a number of events including singing, dancing, extempores, essay writings, etc. Later, I completed my engineering in Metallurgical and Materials Science which led me to land in IT sector. Having worked in IT industry, I had lot of connects with my manager and HR personnel. Though I was enjoying my work life in the IT industry, I wanted a shift to the research sector, because being a metallurgical and material science engineering graduate, I felt that is what interests me more. I met more people and my managing capabilities grew. My ambition got its direction. I decided to opt for a management in human resources. I started up with my MBA preparations. It was risky, shifting jobs and later figuring out my ambition. Moreover, keeping my ambitions intact in the near future, I would like to go for a sector that intrigues my research ideas along with my managerial capabilities.
The times I was preparing for MBA, I was despondent and broken with a perception whether my risk taking journey was worth it or not. I prompted myself not to lose hope, stay positive and be confident. A worthwhile life has always been my ambition, something that keeps me satisfied and happy. I make it valuable, powerful and desired with the little knowledge I possess. To conclude, “NEVER QUIT” is the ultimate mantra.
