Effect of ABG in My Life –
There are many people who inspire me from various walks of life. Some are famous people who have changed the world for the better. Others reflect a more personal choice. But one man who constantly motivates me to choose always the best in my life, is my father. Seeing him at a young age with the child’s vision, made me awe-struck, as I felt he was the one, who I admired always and wanted to be like subconciously. His sartorial choices along with his style, taste and choice was not only impeccable, but also seamlessly aligned with my aspirations. Here comes ABG into my life. All it took was a single advertisement of Grasim on how to be the perfect self-made man, an epitome of success and virtues and hola it was everything that I had dreamt of and had known till then.
Every morning seeing my father getting ready for his office in his grand suits was an inspiration for me to grow up and also get myself attired in the same manner. Not only in the cloth but also drenched in the same values and ethics. I was ambitious and realized soon that in order to get to such a stratum in the professional life I surely needed to work hard and venture out for something outstanding, significant and truly consequential. A strong will power had set in me to stop not till the goal was reached.
The first rung of the ladder to reach my goal had finally arrived – my Graduation Ceremony after my 12thstandard. The dress code of the Graduation Ceremony was to be in formals. How much excited and thrilled I was! The best part was I fit into my father’s suit. I couldn’t control the exhilaration. I felt the alacrity that made me feel to be in cloud nine. The compliments I received that day for my attire were just awesome. It was a rapturous moment. My interest to achieve higher goals enhanced. Eventually my hard work, enthusiasm and zealous efforts brought me success in different stages of my life. Cracking CAT with a commendable high score and getting through the interviews – clad in a new Louis Philippe suit was a mission partly fulfilled. A completion of a cycle, the culmination very satisfying. At present in MDI after the selection, I feel I have a long way to go. To spread my wings and reach out even further. Although initially it was the ‘regalia’ basically that made me strive to thrive but over time I realized the importance of relentless efforts. The Aditya Birla brand and its concept of faith in commitment has always proved ‘Big’ for them and nevertheless ‘Big’ for me to.
How have I turned it around to make an impact
The belief in the old adage – “no risk no gain”, has always made me accept challenges in life. Forgoing a job, which was not aligned with my goals post completing my college was a big risk to take especially in a hyper competitive market with dearth of suitable opportunities. In order to prepare for my entrance examinations for MBA, I decided to study for a year. I knew very well it was a setback to my imminent success but surely eventually I knew I would be contended with my decision. Narayan Murthy once famously said ‘The harder I worked the luckier I became’. Perhaps this precept has steered me to progress and I am sure, with firm determination, I will positively achieve success in all my endeavours and acquire the goal envisioned.
Aditya Birla Group is now in the headlines, enterprising with great prospects in different fields of industry. It has become the most successful retail brand in the world, through Pantaloons. With its ability to pace ahead, steadfast and unperturbed towards betterment, it is a great lesson for us to learn. Hence such an example, out of many, is an inspiration for the young minds to aspire for the excellence and set out to reach the glorious ‘Sun’, the sun which has made Aditya Birla Group what it is today.
