Their presence is evident in our daily life. My house was built using Ultratech Cement and thus the base of faith on ABG was built. My mother trusted Freshwrapp to keep my lunch fresh and hot when I was in school. Since childhood during Durga Puja when the word “Shopping” was uttered, I had only one destination in mind where we could find amazingly fashionable and extensive variety of clothes with high quality at affordable prices and that was Pantaloons. After I got selected in one of the most prestigious colleges of India for MBA, I was asked to buy formals and at the end of the day, the brands which didn’t disappoint my fashion demands were Van Heusen and Allen Solly. I still remember the smile on my father’s face when I gifted him a shirt from Peter England with my first salary. I’m living away from home since seven years now and the biggest telecom service provider in India, Idea-Vodafone LTD has always kept me in touch with my family. Be it my first cellular network or my first “branded” jeans from Pantaloons, ABG always had my back.

Seven years ago I left my parents who were living in Kanpur and came to Kolkata to pursue my B.Tech degree and since then I have been living alone. There were times when I felt there was no job satisfaction and I was too lonely to talk to anyone about it. Slowly loneliness, job dissatisfaction, personal life problems drove me into depression and I stopped communicating with my colleagues and friends and locked myself in a room. I had no goal, no ambition to chase and life seemed to be meaningless.
But while working in my organization for almost three years, I had closely interacted with the HRs and their role in the organization really intrigued me. Starting from the selection till the exit interview, everything in an employee’s life in an organization needs to be taken care by the HR. Thus my interest in Human Resource Management was triggered and I wanted to be a part of the HR team, which is not a role to play but it is the soul of the organization. By that time CAT registration started and I decided it was high time I stop cornering myself in a room and give it a try. But with utmost job pressure and lack of time, I was unable to prepare myself enough for it and thus failed to crack it that year. That lead me into anxiety but I chose to fight against it. When the CAT registrations for the next year began, I promised myself to fight with my depression and anxiety and get a place in one of the prestigious colleges of India. So after working hard in office during the day, I used to study late at nights and surely hard work paid off this time. Now I’m a part of one of the most prestigious institutions of the country. This couldn’t have been possible without the support of my parents who constantly motivated me towards my goal. This entire experience of fighting my depression like a strong soldier and achieving my dream has made me remember one of the quotes from the Alchemist by Paulo Coelho, "When you really desire something from the heart and soul, all the universe conspires you to achieve it".
