PART A: Whether it be textiles, aluminum, the cement industry or telecom, the Aditya Birla group is an omnipresent solution to everything. Aditya Birla Group’s products affect me in a myriad of ways. The most trendy and reliable destination for the latest trends in fashion is Pantaloons, Forever21 being close behind. I can find a Pantaloons store at every mall near and far and get the right tee, jacket or jeans at the right price at a time of my convenience. India is a forever growing and developing nation, we are on the right track to becoming a global superpower in the near future and it is ABG that is playing a big role in this massive process of development through its successes and innovations in infrastructure be it through Hindalco, Ultratech Cement or Vodafone. We are not inching but leaping towards a more prosperous and joyous India, day by day! This new India is supported by a robust financial and banking system made possible by Aditya Birla Capital Limited (ABCL), Aditya Birla Idea Payments Bank Limited (ABPB). Aditya Birla Group is investing for the India of tomorrow. It has planned for development for the next decade.
PART B: The biggest characteristic of a leader is his/her tenacity to fulfill objectives for the group at any cost. It is this tenacity, effective intelligence and decision-making ability that make a person ready to lead. In my little experience as a physics student, liberal arts student, rock climber and trekker I faced my own big and small challenges. In the face of these challenges, I reminded myself that there were certain objectives which have to be met no matter what and just did what had to be done. Mountains and rock climbing walls have been a constant source of encouragement throughout, so have been my mountaineer friends. In August of 2015, I fell from a height of 10m on a cemented surface and fractured both my arms. I roamed around in college with plastered arms for a month, merrily narrating the tale of my accident and how I was dying to go back on the climbing wall. The incident showed me how I had more strength than I had previously imagined and helped me identify my true passion for sport climbing. After the accident in August 2015, I resumed light exercises from end of September itself. At this point in time I was Secretary of Hiking Club and involved myself more in administrative work. I continued training with my team at various climbing walls and natural rocks and made sure I participated in a climbing competition held in January 2016. Later in July 2016, me and my team took the initiative to organise rappelling where we were the instructors and demonstrators. I have done a decent number of treks and climbs over the years and take pride in the fact that the accident could not stop me.
