PART A
The red rising sun. Fiery and inspiring. As a child, the logo of Aditya Birla Group had always fascinated me. The child in me imagined the company to be one that flowed with freshness, was aggressive and very Indian. Reading up about Aditya Birla Group has only reinforced this feeling. The growth story of this Indian giant has truly been inspiring.
Peter England, is a brand that I love. The fitting of its’s trousers and shirts is excellent. It was the first branded shirt and trousers I bought. For a person coming from a normal middle-class family, I used to take great pride in displaying these branded shirts. 😊 Even today, I love shopping from Peter England. They stock some of the most affordable and exciting collection.
But the thing that you associate most when it comes to Aditya Birla Group is Ultratech Cement. Hailing from Mumbai, Ultratech Cement is associated with one of most iconic structures in Mumbai – The Bandra-Worli Sea Link. Wow, what a beautiful and mesmerizing structure. A place I always loving driving by, of course, for the fun of the ride.
Aditya Birla is one of the brands that will always keep touching my life one way or the other. Be it the home I stay in or the clothes I wear or the mobile network I use, the brand will be part of my life. I feel happy and proud to be associated with a brand that is global, employs thousands and is Indian at the very core.
PART B
Greatest challenge in my life was to figure out my ambition. It was ever changing. My greatest strength is the ability to adapt to any situation. To remain flexible and be able to gel in, at any situation. That also turned out to be my weakness. I became the jack of all trades, but king of none.
MBA in that regard was one the main things that gave direction to my ambitions. After working for 4 years, I was confused about what I should do next. While the job was challenging and fun to do, I was not progressing ahead in life. I felt stuck. I knew that I had to pursue higher education. I was confused whether it should be MS in USA or MBA. Gave the exams for both these courses and scored decently well in both. Again, that posed a problem. I could apply for MS as well as MBA.
It was at this time, I really decided to asses myself thoroughly. I sat down and started listing down my attributes. I talked to a lot my friends and my colleagues to understand what was it about me that they thought was my top quality. The conclusion was, I am great with maintaining relations with people. I am good at maintaining relations with people. On looking back at my work ex, I realized that, this was my core strength.
After completing one year in MBA course, I know that this was one of the most educated and well thought of decision I took. I am loving the whole moment and this experience through and through.
