Why is Aditya Birla Group big in my life?

Shiv Narayan Birla founded the Aditya Birla Group in 1857. Since the very beginning, they are providing numerous opportunities.

Aditya Birla Group is big on manufacturing, Infrastructure, Fashion, Diversity, Community, and in my life. Ever since my childhood days knowingly or unknowingly, I was surrounded by Aditya Birla Group products. But I was ignorant about them. My first encounter with ABG was when my mother used to pack my school lunch with Freshwrapp aluminum foil paper. Till now I have used many products of Aditya Birla Group. I remember the very first mobile phone in my family has an Idea sim card in it. Also, there are some clothing brands which I love to wear are Allen Solly, Pantaloons, Planet Fashion, Louis Philippe.

Apart from these the main focus areas of Aditya Birla Group are healthcare, education, sustainable livelihood programs, Infrastructure model, and villages.

Some more areas in which ABG has substantial presence are life insurance, asset management, private equity, corporate lending, and health insurance business.

ABCL, through its subsidiaries and joint venture, manages aggregate assets worth more than Rs. 3000 billion.

Aditya Birla Group is performing a very responsible job for decades and is keen on building a sustainable business. In Aditya Birla Group, the employees of 42 different nationalities are working in 34 countries. They also provide 4500 women empowerment groups setup. They also have a strong role in making India a polio-free country by vaccinating over 90 million kids. They reach 7.5 million people across 5,000 villages and have installed 1000 Biogas plants.

In 2019 Aditya Birla Group won the prestigious Golden Peacock award for performing extraordinary work in corporate social responsibilities.

How did I overcome challenges in my life?

I am Himanshu Kashyap. I was born in Varanasi and grew up there. I faced my biggest challenge as a student during the first year in my Engineering college. The first year was tough for me because I had never lived away from home before, and the environment was new for me. I was unaware of the hard and tight schedule of hostel and college life. Sitting through the long lectures was sometimes difficult for me. I was almost defeated by it and almost had planned to quit.

At that time, my friends and family helped me, and I decided to try to overcome my homesickness, which I did.

As a student, it was hard for me to acquiring successful time management skills. Now, I wish to continue to use the skills I gained, and I am trying to improve on them in IIMV as well.
