Aditya Birla Multi-national Company has played an important part in my life, specially the great clothing brands with which I can relate to. The brands such as Peter England, Van Heusun, and Allen Solley have become a part of my daily life right from under graduation  back at Shri Ram College, Delhi University days. And then, pursuing MBA from IIM Raipur formal wear go hand to hand and when comes to latter without Aditya Birla Group’s clothing brands my MBA life definitely would be incomplete. The recent venture with Forever21 has increased the visibility of the company though it’s largely a brand catering to female segment, even as male I could relate it with the small section they have for the boys at respective stores. The unique casual clothes, latest trends and reasonable price are the factors for choosing this brand; it could be also described as paradise for urban female population.

Not just clothing, the conglomerate has diversified it’s business to various other industries with their well known companies such as Aditya Birla Capital services, Ultra Tech Cement “the market leader in the cement industry” which is to be supplied in construction of Ahmedabad-Mumbai bullet  train project and also the telecom com industry the leaders of yester years Vodafone Idea Ltd. As a CSR enthusiast, I’m content with the Pradhan Mantri Awas  Yojana has been implemented through out the country and I love the way how Ultratech has positioned it’s product, also known as the strongest cement. Though the budget allocated to per citizen eligible under the scheme was bare minimum, irrespective of it people for rural areas used Ultratech cement for laying the foundation of their houses, which is considered as integral part in construction because of the excellent quality of Ultratech cement and even price-conscious customers are ready to pay a premium for it.

As a school student, I had a dream of studying in the best colleges for under graduation and post graduation and to some extent, I have achieved it though a lot is yet to be done. The journey has not been easy, there was a remarkable transition. I was this shy kid in school who hardly interacted with anyone and through the years I identified the need for social belonging. I worked towards it during class 11-12 and in college, I was a completely different person with good people skills. My approach for the above problem/need was striking conversation with unknown people; taking up initiatives, outings with diverse set of people in terms of both geography and cognition. Other than social skills, I came to know about various cultures and tradition prevalent in our country and abroad and also gained networking skills.

The needs pre-exist we don’t create them, over time we have to identify it or someone else does it for us.  The second problem was, I had a stage fright though I could have decent one-to-one conversation with people but I faltered when it came to a formal setting like job interviews, group presentations and which was an important criteria for admissions to top B-schools and thus became a major barrier. Though, some perceive public speaking as inherent quality but with evolution of time the perception has been proved wrong. I still remember my first mock interview at an MBA coaching center, which was disaster. Then, slowly over a period of 4 weeks with more practice and preparation for interviews of group discussions, mock interviews and I could speak confidently in a formal setting. #IIM RAIPUR #ABGLPWOOME
