Part A:In at least 250 words or more, tell us why Aditya Birla Group is big in your life.

Aditya Birla group is the Indian MNC having strong niche in the market, having its ground in fashion, financial services, nonferrous metals and many more.

Hindalco a subsidiary of Aditya Birla group which is an aluminum and copper manufacturing company having a strong hold in metal business. It is one of the largest producers of aluminum all over the continent.

I am glad to share that one of the largest firm played a very key and strong role for my family. In early 1900's my grandfather was facing hard time and financial crises.

At that time Shri GD Birla was the chairman of Hindalco and Durga Prasad Ji Mandelia was his right hand. My grandfather  had a very good connection with Kishan Bihari Lal, Secretary of commerce ministry at that time. So Mr. Lal and GD Birla Ji, helped my grandfather to start his own business of aluminum. He asked his manager who handled his factories, to teach him the work, how it is done and what all things are there and also advised them that they (my Grandfather) don’t have enough money to loose.

The work was new for my grandfather.  The manager gave him property rod bundles and asked him to sell it off in the market. My grandfather didn't knew what is it used for. He researched the market and got to know it was used to make the electrical wires. He sold it off to the dealers who gave him the best price. Likewise, manager gave many things to sell it off in the market so that he can learn about the different equipments and their prices in the market.

We then entered in the market of sheets, coil, aluminum ingots and later in the aluminum section which we sold to hardware fitting manufacturing factories.

This way we started purchasing different aluminum equipments from Hindalco. At the end it helped my grandfather to get out of the difficult time and the financial crises.

Now it's been more than two decade since we are on a very healthy business relationship with the company.

PART B:Tell us, in at least 250 words, how you overcame challenges to achieve your ambitions in life so far.

No Ambition comes without challenges. No goals come without challenges. No goals come without obstacles. The person who succeeds is the one who overcome every obstacle and every challenge.

My one of the biggest goal in life till now was to pursue my post-graduation from top B-schools in India. And for this I faced many challenges but slowly and steadily I achieved it by qualifying into the top B School, NMIMS Bangalore.

I was an employee in NIIT technologies for last 3.5 years. One of the biggest obstacle that came my way during my journey was with hectic schedule it was very difficult to devote time to my studies for MBA entrance exams. I tried to qualify the exam since last 2 year but along with the job it was very difficult for me.

I brainstormed myself and thought of different ideas to manage my time and what I could do the best. Eventually I realized that I was working in UK shifts and it can be an opportunity for me to somehow manage my time according to my shift hours. It was hard for me after this because of the work pressure. I then seeked for advice from my manager. Being strong in making connections I had good terms with my manager. I talked to him about my plans and asked him for his advice. I told him my career path so that he could release some of my work pressure and could provide me the preparatory leave for 2 months.  After few meetings/discussions and according to my pending work he provided me the 2 months leave.

Soon after everything was working my way I got another opportunity to go on the onsite project to UK. I again got confused, which path to choose. I talked to my family and my manger. I gave everything another thought. I made a matrix in which I wrote pros and cons of each, whether to go for MBA or onsite. I then questioned myself why did I choose MBA. I finally had an answer in my mind and got clarity about things. I declined the onsite opportunity and sticked with my decision towards my ambition.

Passing all the challenges and making all the hurdles my stepping stone I qualified for my PGDM course from NMIMS Bangalore.

A man writely quoted “success comes to those who do not give up”.
