How ABG made an impact on my life

Aditya Birla Group is a global conglomerate which touches the lives of millions of people every day. Knowingly or unknowingly, ABG has been an important part of my life since childhood. Being away from home, I still feel nostalgic about the warm chappatis and sandwiches my mother used to pack in Freshwrapp foil. As a child, I always saw my father look handsome in the clothes he bought from Planet Fashion which had clothes from multiple brands like Van Huesen and Allen Solly. When I earned my first salary, I gifted him a shirt from Planet Fashion itself. Visiting ABG retail store- More with my parents always gave me joy as I could pick from a wide variety of chocolates while they bought all the household stuff at discounted prices. After my 10th board exams, I told my father to buy me Idea sim as I was really fascinated by the advertisement’s “Walk and Talk” slogan which I still follow sometimes. As a teenager visiting the mall for the first time, I was fascinated by the big Pantaloons store and the amazing variety of apparel, footwear and accessories it offered. I also bought my first formal clothes for my job interviews from Van Huesen brand from Pantaloons. As a college graduate, I regularly bought chic tshirts and Jeans from People & all my party dresses from Forever 21. The quality and durability of the clothes is impeccable. I have an emotional connection with ABG and I will always stay connected with its brands.

“The struggle you are in today is developing the strength you need for tomorrow.”

I understood how difficult life is when I moved out for my job. It wasn’t a very high-paying job in the beginning. The struggle began when I had to manage everything on my own- taking care of the office work, home, managing the expenses, etc. I didn’t understand how my parents always took care of me and my brother’s every wish apart from everything else we needed. They gave up on their own wishes and never made us feel like we were making any unnecessary demands. I initially struggled a lot with my expenses- rent, household expense, tickets for going home. I thought that as it is I am not contributing towards anything at my home, so I won’t ask my parents for more money. Then I took it as a challenge and managed in this much money itself and also gifted my parents new smartphones. Going further, I decided to pursue MBA and began studying for CAT but didn’t clear the exam while most of my friends got admissions in reputed colleges. I got really disappointed and began questioning myself that am I good enough. My parents became my biggest support system and told me that not everyone achieves everything early in life, learn to be patient, work hard and you’ll succeed. The increased workload over the years and having to work on weekends too made it tough for me to cope with studies. Then, I felt that no matter what I’ll give my 200% this time, manage everything and get into my dream college. The struggle and hard work paid off and now I am studying in one of the most reputed institutes in the country.
