What defines big? Googling it will give us a plethora of adjectives like large, massive, epic, huge, etc. but to me it’s being generous. A ‘big’ to me is one who is willing do something for others and brings a smile on their faces. John Galsworthy has rightly said:

“A man is the sum of his actions, of what he has done, of what he can do, nothing else.”

Aditya Birla Group being the ‘Beginning of good things’ to ‘Engineer’s choice’, it has revolutionized the Indian economy. It has brought many innovative and practical ideas resolving language barrier to saving paper which has made us all say ‘What an Idea, Sirji’. ABG has always stood true to its name, to its values. The group also understands its people needs, wants and desires to bring reliable and world class quality products, bringing smile to many. It’s not only a group, rather a brand with which everyone wants to associate.

Its involvement in the social and economic development of the communities with a vision to build a better, sustainable way of life for weaker sections and raise the country’s human development index is commendable in itself. Gautama Buddha has said

Three things cannot be long hidden: the sun, the moon, and the truth.”

How Have You Made An Impact?

Since the eight standard, I have always heard of Indian Institute of Technology being the most premier institute in the country and I had always dreamed of getting into one of them. While being away from home for 2 years I received the support of my family, friends, teachers and society. With their support, I was able to crack IIT JEE examination and get into one of the IITs, acquiring a seat there. I also understood it were society resources that I will be using for my development.

Having received from the society it was now my time to give back to the society. In college itself, I started teaching many students specially mathematics being my favorite. Seeing the little kids learn to solve questions from basic arithmetic operations to complex trigonometry ones and calling me “Bhaiya ye sawal kaise hoga batadona (Big brother, how do you solve this question)” gave me immense pleasure. Also while being there I got connected to Naandi foundation, an NGO. There I got a chance to evaluate their summer camps, organized across  20 different centers in the Delhi region. I traveled daily to different center talked to children, their parents and teachers, to understand their issues and how to make the summer camps more effective in terms of children learning and financials so that more and more children can be  part of it. Malcolm Forbes, publisher of Forbes magazine has said:

“The purpose of education is to replace an empty mind with an open one”
