It also later ventured in financial services and cement industry .But then it made its impact bigger in cements through the UltraTech cement (earlier called Grasim Industries and also acquired L&T in 2004). Almost 0.1 Million mt of cement was used by the famous Bandra- Worli sea link, which is helping save time for a large number of people in Mumbai; helping them to connect the west to the south of the city. The tires in the vehicle used to travel the sea link or anywhere in the world; the rubber, plastic and ink companies are widely catered by the carbon black of ABG group. Conductex, Aditya Birla Carbon, Raven caters to an audience in 12 countries in five continents, also keeping up with the environment and winning the Golden Peacock award for its efforts towards sustainability. They are leaders in producing rolled aluminum and production of copper. This is helping sectors such as railways, building and construction, electrical, ceramics and also mothers to send hot food wrapped in Tiffin boxes for their children. It introduced aluminum foils under ‘Superwrap’ and ‘Hindalco freshwrapp’ brands. It is keeping all the customer market segments from the hip youngsters to the corporate office workers, having close to 22 million loyal customers put together under the umbrella of retail fashion brands provided by ABG such as – pantaloons, People, Ralph Lauren, Allen Solly, Peter England, Van Huesen , Forever 21 and many more. It is bringing close almost 92% of the population through its partnership with the telecom provider- Vodafone. In order to bring everything to us conveniently and easily, ABD takes up all the pain and works hard to get the best of choices in the market. It also looks after the environment to the group of people where they can create a difference by elevating their lives .Medical camps, mother and child health care, HIV awareness programs are a few of the many that ABG uses to reach out to the marginalized sections of the society. It has set up 56 schools across India for students to learn on scholarships and motivates them to be a part of the KHEL program to excel in sports as well. It is providing vocational trainings through its skill foundation centers, which is helping to empower women. ABG partners with various Government schemes like Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojna, etc. To provide a sustainable future to the society they care.

Anything you desire in life is not easily achievable. Each one has their own challenges and stories to live up to. Just like ABG makes an effort to create an impact by facing the challenges, I have also tried to move ahead in life. Coming from a family where it’s hard for a girl to not marry until my age, it has been tough to convince my parents to help me in continuing my education. It might sound like just another story but also a hard hitting reality of the Indian society- it takes courage to stand to the society to express the desire to learn more. It was not a single day’s effort or a sudden thought change process, but a diligent attempt to make them realize of the benefits of future higher education and also to keep the thoughts of others influencing them at bay. It required efforts and attempts to make them understand of the potential the world holds for talent and the benefits it would reap. I gave them results and placed the trust to reach to an esteemed college where now I study and look forward to achieve my dreams in store.
