Recently I went to Connaught Place, Delhi for shopping with my younger brother. We went straight to pantaloons outlet to shop as that is my brothers favorite apparel store. I casually asked my brother that what is it about pantaloons that you like so much about it. He gave a simple yet convincing response which I completely agree with. He said, if you are looking for something fashionable with good quality material and pocket friendly then pantaloons is a place to be. Then as we went back home and I researched a bit about pantaloons to learn how can one apparel store have so much impact on a youngster’s mind when there are other major apparel store out there in the market with similar offerings. There must be more to it. There must be something that pantaloons is doing differently which no other apparel store is doing. To my realization, the answer to this is very simple. Pantaloons is catering to the needs of youngsters. A wide variety of apparels, trending fashion and pocket friendly price tag, this is where it changes the game for Pantaloons. This is where it sets Pantaloons apart from its competitors. In today’s world, for a business to be successful all it takes is identifying the needs of its target consumers and then catering to those needs. This is what Aditya Birla Group is doing different and it’s not just with their apparel sector but through their other subsidiaries as well in telecommunications sector and cement sector to name few.
Also, It’s not just about doing things differently from others, but doing whatever it takes to stay ahead of the competition in this highly competitive environment. I’ve my own one such story to share where despite all odds I rose up and did whatever it takes for me to achieve my goal. So, during my school days, I was always a chubby kid. I had a dream of playing football for my school team. But due to me being fat, I faced a lot of criticism for that. I appeared numerous times for trials of my school’s football team but could never really make it. Initially, I thought the problem was with my football skills, so I joined an academy to hone my skills. But even after acquiring the required skills, I couldn’t find a spot in my school’s football team. Being a kid, I was really upset with myself. But I somewhere knew that it’s only me who can help myself. I knew that it’s the psychological barrier in my mind that is keeping me away from moving ahead. So during one summer break I decided to loose all my flab and worked day-in and day-out on my fitness. I trained so hard that in the next trials for school’s football team not only did I find a spot in the team, but also I was recognized for being the fittest player of the team. There were two biggest take-aways for me from this whole episode. First, It’s only you who limits your potential. Everybody has endless potential, so don’t limit it and do whatever it takes to be the best version of yourself. Second, one should never give up on their dreams. You’ll always face some sort of adversity but don’t give up ever. Just keep working towards your goal. And one day all the hardship that you faced will be worth it. This was my ABG woo me story.
