Part B- How you overcame challenges to achieve your ambitions in life so far

From the most shy kid in the class whose mother had to accompany him everywhere to an MBA student of one of the best B-schools in the country. Yes, it was a roller coaster ride and I have embraced every part of it. I could recall myself sitting in the class and looking out of the window searching for my mother or sitting alone in the class with non-teaching staff during lunch break while other kids would play. This worried my mother who thought I would never mix with other kids and live a very lonely and gloomy life. My parents and teachers tried everything to bring even a slight change in me. From introducing me to other children, to inviting everyone for my birthdays. Nothing worked though, after all these attempts I was still an outcast.

Something started to change after this. I began participating in group activities particularly team sports. Playing in a team helped me realize a completely different side of me, which I never knew existed. Qualities like leadership and perseverance started getting noticed. I began to get famous among other students and this led to my confidence peaking year after year. There was no looking back now. I ended up being elected as the School leader of my school. Apart from this sport also gave me one of the most precious assets in life- my band of brothers.

So, from being the shyest kid in the class to being the head boy of the school I can surely say that sports changed my life. So folks, pick a sport, “Its never too late to play”.

What team sports has taught me cannot be put into words. It has just become a part of me. It is what I am.
