Why Aditya Birla Group is Big in Your Life –

Shopping was made easy for me when Pantaloons opened its outlets in Kolkata. A Pantaloons outlet serves as a one stop destination for shoppers who are exposed to the wide variety of brands and designs available under the Aditya Birla Group umbrella. Pantaloons did not restrict itself only in clothing but included items from food articles to gifts. Prior to this, shopping had always been a problem for me.. the hectic hopping from one shop to another to find just the right piece of garment or gift was tedious and often without result. But with Pantaloons, I always knew where to go. And why just restrict my praise to Pantaloons alone. What made Pantaloons all the more special was the great collection of items or inventory it possessed. Brands like Van Heusen, Louis Phillippe, Peter England, etc. covered the stands of display.  Brands that hold a high position in terms of recognition and quality. You get good quality in apparel from t-shirts to business suits, from ties to handkerchiefs, from casual wear to formal wear. Another product which made quite an impact in my life were the Freshpakk aluminium containers. As a schoolkid, my mother would often pack delicious meals in the containers for my lunch. And when I opened my lunch box, my friends would also jump in to have a bite of my lunch. The food was delicious, but the taste was preserved due to the Freshpakk product. Ultratech cement has always been a symbol of strength and assurance of durability. Whenever there was some kind of renovation work at my place, I would get to see the large sacks of Ultratech. And its not just these instances, ABG has a lot of products and brands under its umbrella and its very difficult to pin point when and where it has touched your life. But yet you know that it has surely touched your life.

How have you made an impact –

Looking at underprivileged children around the city always made me feel that I should do something for them. This eagerness to make the very little impact I could into their lives was always there in me. I always felt that just providing monetary help will not do much, but if I could help them to make them independent and self-sustaining, then only it would be  a much more permanent and fulfilling solution. But then again I was a kind of a shy guy. I often doubted myself on whether I would be able to interact and teach others. So after a long time I finally mustered up the courage to join a and work with a local NGO in my neighbourhood. I would allocate an hour each day after my school to teach the underprivileged children in the locality. And it felt great. The kids were really enthusiastic and welcoming. And I got to learn a lot from these interactions. I felt that I was really creating a difference in their lives. It also eventually helped me in overcoming my own problems of shyness.
