Part A: Why Aditya Birla Group is big in your life
Aditya Birla Group, a name, a brand, which is as Indian as it’s global. The sole fact that the Aditya Birla group is an Indian brand and is one of the largest conglomerates in the world is what makes me proud. From the Idea sim card you use to call and talk on for hours to the Ultratech cement on which millions of houses are made, Aditya Birla group is everywhere.
Spread across 35 countries, the Aditya Birla Group was started in the 1960s by Mr. Aditya Birla at a young age of 24. The story of this man and this brand is no less than a living inspiration. The way the company has expanded from a jute textile firm to a telecom giant is awe-inspiring.
Aditya Birla group has a prominent presence in my life primarily because of the brand Pantaloons-the one stop destination for all my apparel needs. Be it clothes, footwear, jewellery, Pantaloons has them all. The service staff especially is so very humble. Its presence is even in the aluminium foil wrap which is used to keep food hot and fresh.
The fact that Aditya Birla group has an immense presence in villages across the country and has immunised over 70 million children against polio goes beyond the mere words of Corporate Social Responsibility.
Thus Aditya Birla group clearly resonates with its vision and mission of To be a premium global conglomerate with a clear focus on each of the businesses and To deliver superior value to our customers, shareholders, employees and society at large.
Part B: How you overcame challenges to achieve your ambitions so far
I would start by saying that through out my school life I was a very hardworking student. I was always a scholar let’s say. But due to my avid interest in sports I became an all-rounder. When I was in class 11th, the pressure due to competition of the IIT JEE exams, and the fear of physics, I started performing very badly in academics.
No matter how hard I would try, I just couldn’t grasp the concepts. Due to this I started slipping into depression. Initially I was unaware of this, but I started sleeping more, I didn’t talk to many people and I started eating a lot of unhealthy and junk foods. Due to this I became obese which added to my physical and mental woes.
As the exam date impended, my father diagnosed my problem and helped me out of it. The solutions he gave me, required me to work upon them with all my mental strength. I worked upon them and reached the institute which I was interested in. In college I took up sports which helped me lose weight and I made up a lot of friends which helped me treat my depression.
I started eating healthy and adopted it as a way of life. Sports has always urged me to achieve my ambitions and pushed me and motivated me to achieve my ambitions in life and still continues to do so.
