Part A: Aditya Birla Group is a US $44.3 billion corporation which is active in 14 industry sectors like Aditya Birla chemicals, Aditya Birla Fashion & Retail, Birla Carbon, Aditya Birla Grasun chemicals, Aditya Birla idea payments bank ltd, Aditya Birla Insulators, Aditya Birla Science and technology, AV Group, Birla Jingwei fibres company limited, etc. It is the third largest Indian sector conglomerate. It was established 162 years ago in 1857.

ABFRL hosts India's largest fashion network with over 11,000 points of sale, which include close to 2,500 exclusive ABFRL brand outlets across 750+ cities and towns, 4,900+ multi-brand outlets and 4000+ department stores across the country. It emerged after the consolidation of the branded apparel businesses of Aditya Birla Group comprising ABNL's Madura Fashion division and ABNL's subsidiaries — Pantaloons Fashion and Retail (PFRL) and Madura Fashion & Lifestyle (MFL) in May 2015. Post the consolidation, PFRL was renamed Aditya Birla Fashion and Retail Ltd.

One of my favorite sectors of Aditya Birla is Aditya Birla Fashion & Retail. With a revenue of Rs. 7,181 crore it is India's first billion-dollar pure-play fashion powerhouse with an elegant bouquet of leading fashion brands and retail formats. My favorite brands of ABFRL are Pantaloons, People, Planet fashion, Van Heusen, Forever 21. With its wide variety and its ability to move with trends is what makes Aditya Birla different from its competitors. It brings together the learnings and businesses of two renowned Indian fashion icons Madura Fashion & Lifestyle and Pantaloons.

Part B

“You should never view your challenges as a disadvantage. Instead, it's important for you to understand that your experience facing and overcoming adversity is actually one of your biggest advantages.” Michelle Obama

The biggest challenge in my life was when I had to repeat a year in my MBA college because of my backbone fracture. In my 1st year, in term-3, I had backbone fracture and couldn’t attend my classes due to which I had to repeat. It was a tough time as repeating a year in MBA is not a small thing. I was asked to re-join the college and come again in 1st year.

Seeing new faces, the next year, loosing friends and seeing them joining their jobs was the toughest time. I am still struggling for it. Happily, I am in second year and coping it well. I believe in no matter what kind of challenges or difficulties or painful situations you go through in your life, we all have something deep within us that we can reach down and find the inner strength to get through them.

Through this journey my friends and my family played a major part in supporting me in all ways possible.
