  • When I hear the names Birlas , Tatas or Ambanis, the very first thing that strikes my mind is ethics, values and traditions above all. Having worked in one of the firms of Tata group and having lived in a joint family all the time, I truly admire the fact that gaining trust and building relationships is the closest you can get to people. Aditya Birla Group, being one of the world’s largest conglomerates has touched me in every sphere of life, be it menial daily chores like buying clothes or making phone call through Idea cellular network to making valuable investment decisions like buying stocks. I still remember that day when I got my first salary and I instantly rushed to buy a shirt for my father, who has been my role model, I got into a mall in Delhi and searched around for Peter England. My father has always been an admirer of the brand Peter England. But I wanted to gift him something more extravagant and entered a store named Louis Philippe, and bought him a light blue casual shirt from there. The moment I picked it up, I knew this was it. I knew he would like it and even more the fact that it was a token of respect and admiration I have for him. Little did I know at that time, Peter England and Louis Philippe belonged to the same group i.e. The Aditya Birla Group. Another incident which I particularly relate to ABG, is when back in  December 2016, when I was new to stock markets (entered out of my own interest and needs) and looking for some magic to happen, like I would double my wealth in a week’s time, the first share which bought was of TCS (as I associate myself deeply with that firm as I got my first job there) and second was HINDALCO INDUSTRIES LIMITED. I knew for the fact, that Hindalco belonged to one of the biggest groups that are too big to fail and my faith was further backed up by company’s valuations, new channels and equity reports. When it comes to one of the most important aspects of our lives, mobile phones, I have been using Idea Cellular Network since a long time.
  • There have been instances when I was battered and beaten down, especially when it came to make financial ends meet. A graduate out of college, joined TCS, at the age of 21, I had the responsibility to pay off my education loan while taking care of parents. I couldn’t survive on a single income and hence had to look for alternatives. This is when I introduced and educated myself to the world of stock market. For over 6 months, I did my research talking to a lot of people, reading books like The Intelligent Investor, Yogi on Dalal Street etc. and finally when I started investing my own money, the first SIP that I started was of Aditya Birla Sun Life Advantage Fund(G), along with a couple more and a few stocks mixed in there like Rain industries, Graphite India, Infosys etc. A year hence, I made fruitful results and was able to pay off a huge chunk of my education loan, along with saving up for future monetary needs in MBA. This quality of mine, of showing commitment and passion, I think it resonates with ABG’s one of ethics.
