Since childhood whenever someone had to give examples of big names in India it has always been the Tata’s and Birla’s. Probably in our teenage we started hearing the name Ambani’s to the list but the Tata’s and Birla’s have always been the first choices of surnames we took to symbolise great industrialists of India. It took me school days to realise that the Birla’s were just more than a big surname, it was a symbol of hard work and success resulting into a gigantic empire. When I first got into BK Birla College, I started researching more about the Birla family and that’s when I understood that each and every Indian has been affected by this conglomerate in one or other possible way.

Right from Vodafone Idea to Pantaloons to Ultratech cements Aditya Birla group has been a significant element in each and every Indian’s life. Consider an example of a middleclass household, probably they are staying in an Ultratech cement house, the man is wearing clothes from brand such as Allen Solly , Louis Phillipe , Van Heusen , Peter England  or Planet fashion, the woman is shopping her clothes from Pantaloons or Forever 21 or Lifestyle , their food products in tiffin are wrapped in Freshwrapp aluminium foils made by Hindalco  and their cell phones are working on Idea / Vodafone and that they are having their family funds managed by Aditya Birla Capital,  this situation is not only realistic but highly possible in India.

Not just middleclass families but Aditya Birla group has its reach in all classes of Indian families with their ventures ranging from Fertilizers to Aluminium windows to roofing’s to wire rods etc. And this is how Aditya Birla group has not just given us a big surname but a conglomerate who would be remembered for many years to come.
