Why Aditya Birla Group is big in your life.

A guy comes out of the interview room and announces the googly thrown at him and without a second thought I turn the internet on and start surfing to be better prepared; finding ways, and keeping a track of buses and trains had never been this easy; just turn the mobile data on and all answers on the fingertips. All these situations have been simplified due to the availability of a hassle-free network – Idea, an Aditya Birla Group product which helped me in my daily life with superior network experience across 2G, 3G and 4G platforms irrespective of the locations. For me and in fact, for a large number of my digital relatives, it’s “The Idea that changed our lives”.

The 2.0 day to day impact by this global conglomerate would be in the apparel domain. India is a country of many festivals and big fat weddings and having a unique set of clothes for each occasion without burning a hole in the pocket has been possible because of this Aditya Birla retail branch. Open my wardrobe, and it’s filled with clothes of brands from Pantaloons, and I am “in love with Fashion”. With over 209 stores in 97 cities, it’s easily available and has been simplifying lives even more with its e-commerce division.

The above mentioned subunits of the groups have had their presence in India since the last two decades and growing up using the vast range of products had a substantial impact on my lifestyle and choices as an individual.

How you overcame challenges to achieve your ambitions in life so far.

Who doesn’t dream to become big? Who sets out to fail? And I being no different too had started my journey to bag a seat in coveted management college and expected to be smooth sailing one.

I had a pretty decent score in my first attempt but with no calls from any college, life gave me my first setback in the ride. Dejected? Yes. Bogged down? No. Luckily, I had a placement offer and I joined the company. Working and preparing wasn't easy, but the thought of not giving it another shot bugged me. I prepared and braced up for the D-Day but failed badly. As things were going great at office, the feeling of giving up on the journey, set in. Picking up again after such a dejected performance and coming out of my cocoon was really tuff this time as I was all settled in and was in my comfort zone at workplace. But the ambition of being at a B-school was afresh and that pushed me to start all again. I analyzed and practiced harder on the things that went wrong in my last attempt, managed a decent score and lady luck on my side, I got calls too and finally I am here having the opportunity to write this article being an MBA student at XIMB.

This is not a story of my success or my failures; it’s a story of my journey where I was disheartened sometimes, sometimes clueless but having believed in me, and the urge to fight for my dreams gave me the courage to stand up and take on the chaos differently each time.

“The best things in my life, and probably in anybody’s life, come out of being open to being blown off course.”
