There are hundreds of brands that Aditya Birla group (ABG) has been producing since India’s independence. It doesn’t just create brands and diversify the business for the group, but also help take India to the world.

  • Hindalco

Two essential things are needed to build a nation, especially for a country that has to start everything from the scratch. They are food security and infrastructure, both of which were in tatters when the colonizers left the country after tearing the country apart. ABG was one of the early industry makers to establish an Aluminium and Copper plant which played a huge part in building the nation as well as producing fertilizers which played its part in the country achieving self-sufficiency in food production. Our family being a dealer of fertilizers and pesticides, we have felt the impact directly and have immensely benefited from it.

  • Vodafone-Idea Limited

ABG was entering the telecom sector at a time when the cellular services were growing at a rapid pace and behemoths such as Hutch and Airtel had already established a name for themselves. In order to stand-out, Idea launched the “3G” with the tagline, “What an idea, Sir-ji!”. The advertisements had an underlying humour while at the same time had solutions to India’s social and environmental problems such as overpopulation, education and saving trees by paper-less payment. That brought “Idea” closer to the masses including me, thus bringing ABG very close to my life.
