I will start with an example; three toddlers are given a difficult task to do. Each handles the challenge in his or her own unique way: one cries and gives up immediately, one tries the same strategy over and over again, and one tries different strategies until he finds one that eventually works.

Clearly, the third toddler has a higher level of functioning adaptability, and as a result, is the only one to successfully complete the task. Is adaptability something you're born with, or can you learn it? Now, here comes my story. I belong to the profound class of Indian society i.e. the middle class. My dad was in armed forces and like many, I have the privilege of living in many cities as many as 8 changing school all the time finding a new set of friends was something very new to me. Imagine being a guy who has its roots from Bihar, being born in Chennai, then living Bangalore, Pathankot, J&K, Pune, Agartala all the way to Chandigarh, I have seen it all and the one thing that helped me all through that I was always open to change.

“It is not the strongest but the most adaptable that survives”

All through the years, the only thing that I have always aspired is to give all the happiness to my parents because I have seen all through the life how selfless they have been. Growing up I pursued engineering and got a decent job after that, but deep inside I was not satisfied. So, I turned down the offer and started preparing for CAT all was going well, and I was hoping to get decent percentile. But then the unexpected happens in the week of the exam. I was admitted to the hospital as I had contracted dengue virus. The dream shattered, now at this point of time I didn’t have a job in hand and, I was going to have a gap of year in my profile. I kept telling that to me that “this too shall pass”.

But life had something else in store for me I got an offer from big American MNC, I still remember calling my dad and that dad Idea dialler tone never felt so sweet while I was calling my dad as if that is a symphony. I can’t even imagine how that moment have been if that hadn’t been Idea network. Fast forward, I got my first salary and I gifted my dad an Allen Solly Shirt, I remember I used to go to pantaloons with my parents to buy garments but on that very day I realized it was not that just shirt it was an emotional connect and significance of deeply involved is ABG group is in our life. I again started preparing for Cat and this time I got an excellent percentile. And now came the main thing the interviews, I was anxious as well as excited. In the midst all these I got a parcel from my dad and to my surprise, it was a Van Heusen suit.

I was ecstatic and again who brought that smile to my life it was Aditya Birla Group. I carried that suit with me in all the interview and converted the MDI!!!

Remember, I talked about adaptability and evolution in starting, the best example of that had been Aditya Birla Group in my life, the group that has stood the test of time from 1857, with constant value addition and that has been the main reason it has expanded to 35 countries with more than 120,000 employees worldwide and bringing happiness to millions of lives!!!

The journey is never-ending. There's always going to be growth, improvement, adversity; you just got to take it all in and do what's right, continue to grow, continue to live in the moment.
