With these strong beliefs, I set off my career path,
A metallurgical engineer turned digital marketer,
The journey has been a tough beauty
I had a goal to excel, to learn, to lead,
Got a job in a digital marketing agency.
Family was happy, people were good,
I still found myself in a bad mood.
Something was not working out,
My inner voice was shouting out loud
Challenge it, change it, find your way.
I mustered the courage to be brave,
Discussed with family, they said no,
Money was an issue, as I thought so.
Told the colleagues, they said no,
5 months is too less to know, true.
Told the friends, they said no,
It takes time to adjust, they said so.
Told the team, they said no,
Work is interesting & important, oh.
Lost the way, thought for days,
Finally decided to head my own way.
Gave 10's of interviews, got rejected.
Left all alone, I cried & felt dejected.
Pondered about my decisions, knew the outcome,
Frequent job changing was no rule of thumb.
Could not fit in there is all I knew,
Think, Act, innovate were the only cues.
Had the courage, wanted to rise,
Wanted to lead and spread the shine,
Started studying with all I had,
Prepared sincerely till I could be glad.
Then came an opportunity knocking the door,
I knew it was mine when I explored.
Gave the interview, made strategic plans,
Shared the initiatives, did the best I can,
Waited for long for the final mission,
Took them a month to offer the vision.
I accepted whole-heartedly with tears of joy,
All my efforts paid off with an amazing take off.
ABC came my way making all dreams come true,
Won something whose chances were so few.
The wonderful thing came without a clue,
It turned my life as fresh as morning dew.
It made me happy & very excited,
I learnt new things which could never be doubted.
I realised a new confidence & strong belief,
Such hard work did bring a great relief!
