I firmly believe that fashion defines a person because it expresses an individual’s personality and attitude. It not only boosts one’s confidence and poise but also enables us to achieve greater heights by reinstating people’s perception towards us. One such name which resonates in fashion industry is Aditya Birla Fashion and Retail, a company of the Aditya Birla Group, which is a collection of several trendy and vibrant apparel brands such as Allen Solly, Van Heusen, Peter England, Pantaloons, Lifestyle, Forever 21 to name a few. These brands cater to a wide range of customers for their clothing needs by providing the latest fashion trends and a comprehensive catalogue of products with lots of variety, whether it be daily, casual or professional. By doing so, Aditya Birla Fashion and Retail has captured India’s young working population and increased their lifestyle.
In my experience, I had once dressed up in a formal Allen Solly shirt, which was gifted to me by my aunt, and I was on my way for an important job interview. The light-blue coloured shirt along with black trousers, not only made me look presentable but also gave me a huge confidence boost. As I left my house, my mother wished me all the best and remarked that I never looked better. On reaching the office for my interview, I was complemented by a couple of the employees which reduced the anxiety and nervousness as I clearly stood out amongst my peers. Be it my knowledge and skills or my formal attire, whichever impressed the interviewer, this Allen Solly shirt turned out to be extremely lucky for me as I managed to crack the interview and successfully land the job.
Aditya Birla has been a continuous source of boosting confidence in the minds of young professionals and without a doubt helping increase Indian economic standards. These brands have become a household name and bring a sense of royalty in one’s mind.

We are faced by many challenges in our life starting from preparing for exams, achieving a good position in an organisation to maintaining a good family life. Every day is a struggle and in order to fulfil your ambition you need to strive to be the best and be confident in whatever you set out to do. My ambition is to be an Investment Banker for one of the top firms in the finance domain. Maintaining diligence in academics throughout my schooling, I always excelled in sporting activities like football, cricket and athletics taking active participation in inter-school football competitions at the U-14 and U-16 levels. However, during my junior college days I faced numerous challenges and was in a dilemma with regards to my education, career and future in general. It was around that time in 2008 that my father passed away due to cancer which came to me as a huge shock. Unable to deal with the situation, I dropped out of college for a year and felt absolutely helpless. Being the only child and seeing my mother extremely devastated, I soon came to a strong realization that it was my moral duty and responsibility to support my mother to the best of my abilities. At that moment, I made a promise to myself to rise up to my parents expectations and commit to life of hard work, prudence and perseverance. Through all this, I had not forgotten my ambition of becoming an Investment Banker and I channelized all my efforts and energy towards molding my character and shaping my thought process. I managed to finish my graduation in BMS (Finance) in 2013 after which I started working with my aunt in her warehousing business. Determined to study further, I took up MCom as my post-graduation along with my first job. With things falling in place, I secured a job at a Financial Services company which was a major breakthrough for me. After my 2 year stint, I realized that in this dynamic world, there is a constant need to re-evaluate and re-skill oneself with the latest knowledge and practices the industry has to offer. Despite having completed my post-graduation, I decided to take up my second PG degree - MBA from NMIMS Bangalore. Having a strong inclination towards finance with specific interest in topics such as Investment Banking and Corporate Finance, I used this medium to overcome all my challenges, break all the barriers and ultimately achieve my ambition of becoming an Investment Banker. My career path maybe long and filled with many more hurdles and obstacles, but I am sure I would be able to achieve great heights and have a successful career with my positive attitude and focus.
