Challenges overcome by me to achieve my ambitions in life so far...
We don’t grow when things are easy, we grow when we face challenges. This is my life if I must quote in one line. My life has been like waves of the Sea, fighting with each droplet to reach its goal.
My life was like sweet candy till I passed my Higher Secondary Exams. My first life decision was to be made since I scored decent marks and I had to choose between the streams. Thoughts of people surrounding me and me on the verge of being a pressure cooker, it was a real challenge to make one-time life decision. Being a Marwari and coming from Baniya community, I went for science stream by defying the typical commerce background which all my friends opted.
My two years drill started, aiming as engineering my background. Like everyone, I was running after coaching to finally land down in some IITs or NITs. Life is not so easy you know, it’s like an obstacle race. I realized I chose the wrong cup of tea. My everyday was going through the books, mugging up the concepts with sleepless nights and high amount of caffeine entering my body. That resulted me gaining 10 kgs plus landing in a private engineering college.
I have always loved to cook, reason being my mother used to make me work with her in kitchen. That’s how I survived my four-year journey in Manipal, the private college. New faces, new people and a whole new atmosphere was really exciting in the beginning. I was excited as all do when coming away from home with no boundation to stop you from doing anything. But you realize it soon after that home was like heaven and now you are like a beggar in the street with no one to care. The food was great, you do get the feeling of ‘Jail’. Finally, my life saving skill saved me. I started to do things on my own. Responsibilities were a compliment part of my day to day life there. Dealing with problems, solving out personal problems, giving a shoulder to cry and a laugh to share became a part of my life. The irony was that I was a grown up, the one who can never be serious.
Finally came the biggest challenge for me I would say I have to face in my life. I had two options either joining my fathers venture or I chase my dreams to be an educated businessman with all skills of management and technology. Dedicated my time within hand looking after my father’s business, I managed to get in a management college. And here I am feeling nostalgic about my engineering life again. But this time with greater responsibilities and seriousness to achieve my goal. People say this is the end of your education, but I believe you learn everyday every moment and you grow like a tree. Every moment is challenge for us to take the maximum out of that time. In the end I would like to end with a quote, “The most difficult thing is the decision to act, the rest is merely tenacity”.
