In life, we often forget to thank someone or something that we are grateful to. “Aditya Birla Group” is one such entity that has always played a significant part in my life, and today when I look back to what its contribution had been, in one word it is “enormous”. From visiting an outlet of Pantaloons as a freshman to buy formal attire for the next day’s induction program to calling home a thousand miles away through Vodafone and saying that ‘I’m fine’, Aditya Birla Group is that powerhouse that has been with me throughout.
I think It’s needless to mention how revolutionary this company is since we are all aware of the range of businesses Aditya Birla Group covers. They started with cotton and jute trading business way back in 1870 and now they oversee 72 manufacturing and services subsidiaries throughout India and in other major countries. They produce viscose staple fiber under Grasim, rayon grade pulp, cement, textiles, sponge iron, aluminum and copper under Hindalco, clothing, and carbon black under Aditya Birla Nuvo, and insulators under Birla NGK Insulators. Apart from these, the company supports a large mobile service provider under Idea Cellular Ltd., an insurance company under Birla Sun Life Insurance Co. and several other financial products subsidiaries. Their prominence in social and economic development has been huge where they have reached unattainable feats like immunizing 70 million children against polio, providing solar lamps for 4,50,000 school children and providing mid-day meals every day for 63,000 children in 268 schools. All these aspects are just a glimpse of the mighty “Aditya Birla Group”.
