ADITYA BIRLA GROUP

Aditya Birla Group has touched our lives in many ways. Be it a cellular service or clothing brand

or banking features, we used it in some way knowingly or unknowingly. It is a huge company

and widely spread in several businesses. I can closely relate to ABG by being intern in ABCL

(ABSLI) which is one of the leading private sector life insurance companies in India. It was such

a great experience working there and knowing more about its businesses and diversified

products.

Naming some of the brands under ABG include Aditya Birla Carbon, Allen Solly, Hindalco

Everlast, Epotec, Forever 21, Liva, Linen Club, Louis Philippe, Aditya Birla Ultratech,

Pantaloons and many more.

The foundation of Birla business empire was laid by Shiv Narayan Birla, who started cotton

trading in Pilani, Rajasthan in 1857. He then closely associated with Mahatma Gandhi and

accompanied him to London to attend historic round table conference. Grasim Industries Ltd was

incorporated on 25 Aug,1947 which manufactured textiles from imported raw material. The

group is now a leading player in aluminum, cement manufacturing, carbon black, chemicals,

copper, fertilizers, etc.

In 2018, the Aditya Birla Group was named AON best employer in India for the third time since

2012. The mission statement of Aditya Birla Group says it all “To deliver superior value to our

customers, shareholders, employees and society at large”.

Their commitment, integrity and passion are source of guidance for me and by following these,

one can be successful in achieving goals. There is a lot to learn from this Group and the people

who made it achieve in a way it is now.
