There is no need of introduction for the Aditya Birla Group which is one of the premier business conglomerates of India and is renowned for the excellent performance in the sectors they are involved in. ABS is a MNC worth USD 44.3 billion and operates in 34 countries across 5 continents. They initiated their journey as a Jute Manufacturing Company in 1919 and gradually transformed themself to a leading multi-product corporation. The Aditya Birla Group is now in the League of Fortune 500 and is backed with an extraordinary force of over 120,000 employees from 42 nationalities all over the world. With over seven decades of responsible business activities, their businesses have grown into global powerhouses in a wide range of sectors comprising metals, textiles, carbon black, telecom and cement.

The Aditiya Birla Group has gone beyond conventional barriers of business. They care deeply about the community and believe that it is their duty to facilitate inclusive growth. This is the reason why they are involved with a number of community development work through various CSR activities which touches our lives from the roots. They focus on health-care, education, girl child, sustainable livelihood, women empowerment projects, infrastructure and promoting social reform.

Aditya Birla Group plays a big and important part in almost everyone’s life in India. Being a conglomerate, it is highly unlikely that one have gone without using any of the ABG’s products in one’s lifespan. ABG touches us all and has a very huge impact on us. They are everywhere; from being one of the 3 biggest producers of primary aluminium in Asia to one of the world’s largest telecom company - among the leading telecom players in India through partnership with Vodafone Group. They are the largest producer of viscose staple fibre and carbon black, 4th largest producer of insulators and 5th largest producer of acrylic fibres. They are the third largest cement producer globally. Who in the world has not heard about the ultratech cement? ABG is no. 1 in white cement as well as ready mix concrete. It’s like ultratech cement is the main ingredient responsible for India’s infrastructural development.

They are even at top in fashion retail; known as India’s no. 1 fashion lifestyle entity - a combination of Madura F&L and Pantaloons. Almost all of us must have shopped from these stores and  coincidently I’m even wearing one of its products right now while writing this article. We all are using ABG products in our day to day life may be knowingly or even unknowingly. They are the largest manufacturer of linen fabric, second largest manufacturer and largest exporter of viscose filament yarn. They have a wide variety of fashion spectrum from formals to semi-formals and casuals and also from luxury apparel to fast fashion and value fashion. Brands like Louis Philippe, Van Heusen, Allen Solly and Peter England which are very important for professionals are also owned by ABG. Aditya Birla Group is into providing services as well. In India they are the leading player in Life Insurance and Asset Management.

The way ABG had made an impact in our life in the same manner even I want to create a positive difference in others life. Being a student of IIM the greatest challenge what I am facing today in my life is MBA itself. There’s so much of huddles and competitions; stress and depression; ups and down; jealousy and hatred but whatever may come there is no turning back. The hope for better future will always act as a fuel. One day I wish to become as huge as ABG by reaping the success by sowing hard work.
