Aditya Birla Group, the 162-year old, Indian conglomerate, whose mission is to deliver value to its customers, shareholders as well as its employees, has made a mark in the country by delivering products in almost all the spheres. Aditya Birla Group has left no stone unturned and has shown its prowess in agribusiness, cement, chemicals, e-commerce, finance, mining, retail, and telecommunication. It has moulded itself according to the contemporary lifestyles while standing up to what it believes in.
At times, when India faces the problem of unemployment, this conglomerate has provided job opportunities to around 1,20,000 employees belonging to over 42 nationalities.
Since Aditya Birla Group has forayed into such different areas, it has been a part of my life at some point or the other. With the outlets of their in-house brands like Louis Philippe, Peter England, Van Heusen and the American brand like Forever 21, it has also targeted us as millennials.
Aditya Birla group has touched my life in a diverse number of ways. From the sim card I use to the clothes that I wear, Aditya Birla products are a part of my life, whether I realize it or not. That’s the beauty of their products I feel, that they can connect to the masses on a subliminal level across the entire range of the spectrum.
Ever since I started using a mobile phone, which was around 12 years ago, I have been using an Idea sim card. I never felt the need to switch to another provider because I always felt content with the service and found it better than the other brands. Even when Jio came in and everybody caught the Jio fever, I remained loyal to my old SIM in a way.
Moving on to sustainability in the way they work, Novelis is the world’s largest recycler of used beverage cans and Idea Cellular launched the ‘Green Idea’ initiative with Aditya Birla Group aiming at reduction in carbon dioxide emission. There is also a continuous endeavour to reduce carbon footprint, reduce water consumption and conversion of waste to raw material.
Giving back to the society is a cause that has been close to my heart and hence I have grown to appreciate the initiatives taken by Aditya Birla Group, in particular, the focus on de-addiction programmes and dowry-less marriage. I also am a strong proponent of higher education, for it is a respectable way to rise out of poverty which is again a key focus area for the Aditya Birla Group.
