Part A
Even while submitting this article, I am using a Vodafone Idea connection. Such is the pull of Aditya Birla Group in my life. Connecting people at such low costs and with such reliability is the trademark of such a conglomerate. I am currently also wearing a Louis Phillipe t-shirt, and I know the feeling of comfort and completeness when you wear a Van Heusen shirt. And what can be said about the building I am currently sitting in! It most definitely is made from Ultra Tech Cement because sitting on the 9th floor of 16 floors building; I have that same feeling of comfort and security.
Imagine food. Now imagine freshly cooked home food. How does it remain fresh? Of course, in my case, it is through Freshwrapp. Such a simple but noble thing to do! To bring back the feeling of home wherever you are is extraordinary and highly appreciated.
The numbers in the case of ABG are always going to be huge. A legacy of 162 years will tend to do that. Just the number of employees (120,000) and the number of families directly linked with ABG for their livelihood is immense. Such vastness brings a great challenge, and people repose their faith in the systems that are reliable and that just work. Such faith is the testament to the fact that ABG is now worth more than the US $44 billion. And this faith will continue to live on as ABG as their mission itself is “To deliver superior value to our customers, shareholders, employees and society at large”.
Part B
There are various prisons that we build for ourselves. We shackle ourselves by putting limitations even when none exist. Our fears help us make those chains. To break these chains, we must overcome ourselves. The doubts, the hesitations and the complete paralysis before taking any action are some of the greatest challenges a person can face.
My life has been no different. I have tried many times and failed most of the times. The cycle of trial and error repeats continuously. But within that, I find some cases of success. Take the case of me being afraid of drowning. The fear grips me when I step onto any boat or ship. Or when I tried my hand at swimming. It is not just the fear of death but a combination of falling slowly and suffocating. The vastness of the water body beneath you can terrify you because you don’t know where it might end.
So how did I overcome this challenge? Simple. You do it without thinking. That can happen when you do it for someone else. My nephew fell into a pond. I jumped in the water to save him. And I did. And that incident changed my whole perspective. I learned that you could face everything if you approach any problem with something more significant than your own needs and thoughts. This small yet big event in my life helps me to strive harder than ever because I do it with the larger picture in mind. This way, I move forward to achieve my ambitions.
