Why Aditya Birla Group is big in my life:
Aditya Birla Group is a name which no one is unfamiliar with today. The conglomerate has its operations spread across 35 nations around the world and holds as much as twice as many companies worldwide. The company’s success in India and worldwide can be attributed to the visionary approach of its founders and the people associated with it. The group is credited to have created a plethora of well-recognized brands offering an assortment of world-class products. The group operates in 14 sectors of the industry including Cement, chemicals, textile, fashion, telecom, and financial services. All thanks to this well-diversified portfolio of brands of products and services, the group has touched the life of every Indian. Aditya Birla Group has been, in one way or other, a part of all of our lives.
The group’s mission is “To deliver superior value to our customers, shareholders, employees and society at large”. In pursuit of this mission, the group is committed to provide the best for its customers; and, being a happy customer myself, I fully endorse the aforementioned.
There are many ways in which the group has made its appearance in my life, but for me, the consumer goods and services offered by it have earned it a respectable place in my books. The financial services division of the group has been the first choice of my family for the purpose of insurance, investment, etc., for quite some time. I myself have been a loyal customer of Idea Telecom services for as long as I can remember. When it comes to Fashion, my siblings and I more than often find ourselves preferring brands such as Peter England, Pantaloons, People.
But what is so special about it, you may ask; the consistency in quality and superior customer service across the range of products that I have come across, really makes Aditya Birla Group stand out. I am happy and assured whenever I choose an Aditya Birla Brand, and I am proud as an Indian of the group’s accomplishments all across the globe.
How I overcame challenges to achieve my ambitions in my life:
Life is a roller-coaster ride. There are good times and then there are times which really question our will power to achieve what we have set out to; a wise thing to do is to keep overcoming all the obstacles with unwavering resolve, in the pursuit of success, instead of giving up, as ‘the challenges that we face today make us a stronger and more prepared person for tomorrow.’
We all often encounter one or the other such challenge in our lives. These challenges although push us out of our comfort zones, but they also give us ample of opportunity to learn. One such thing happened with me recently which I would like to share with the readers.
It happened during my summer internship with HDFC Bank Ltd. I was very much excited to be working with such a renowned organization, but I was equally nervous as the domain in which was I was assigned a project had a pure sales-based profile. The reason of my uneasiness was that I had little experience and knowledge of the actual sales domain. So, nervous as I was I sought the help of my industry mentor. He guided me as to where to start my project from, how to lead it, what objectives I should pursue and how should I expect to be evaluated throughout the project.
In spite of all this I still felt lost for direction sometimes. At times I felt as if I was just dabbling around; at such moments, I diligently sought the counsel of my industry and faculty mentors. As a result of this ever continuous falling and getting up process, I actually learned a lot about the domain, and eventually I became very much comfortable with the project. However, I never stopped doubting myself, even till the end of the project, because I believed that the doubt, like my apprehension at the beginning of my internship, will only make me grow better. Hence, I took on the challenge to diligently complete the project and walk away with a new experience and knowledge.
