Recently I came across an article which was talking about Aditya Birla Group taking up several initiatives for women empowerment and changing lives of many by undertaking many CSR activities. ABG is the third-largest Indian private sector conglomerate, operating in 35 countries and employing more than 1.2 lakhs employees worldwide. They have been making our lives easier for years. This group is affecting the lives of many across the globe and the same it has done to me.

I have been away from home for several years, but it never made me feel the absence of my family and friends. Its subsidiary Vodafone Idea Limited, which infact is India’s largest telecom operator, made it possible for me to connect with them seamlessly. Their 4G network also helps me in working online.

ABG has also stood by my family’s side in times of crisis. Its subsidiary, Aditya Birla Sun Life Insurance, has always been a part of our life. They helped us in securing our future and live peacefully.

Next comes one of the basic necessities of our life, clothing. In the apparels sector, I can blindly trust this group. It has never disappointed me in any way, be it the quality, variety, or pricing. Its worldwide famous brands like Louis Philippe, Ted Baker, VanHeusen, Allen Solly, etc. have always been my personal favourites. These stores are one-stop solutions for my needs.

And lastly comes the Ultratech Cement. I still remember one of its tagline “iss cement mein jaan hai”. We cannot ignore its contribution in our everyday developing infrastructure. India is still a developing nation. And for a strong nation, we need stronger infrastructure which is the base of everything. This is what is provided by this group.

Apart from affecting our lives individually, ABG is taking several initiatives for the improvement of under privileged areas of our society. They work in thousands of villages and reaches to the millions pf people to help them. They are an active participants of CSR activities. And so ABG has touched the hearts of millions.

ABG has made my everyday life easy. It worked for the betterment of my life as well as for the society I live in.

What challenge I faced in life and how I overcame it?

Challenges are a part of everyday life. They make us stronger and without them life is somewhat meaningless because we have nothing to compare the good times to. These challenges come in many forms. For some, the challenge is doing well at school, for others it is getting to grips with financial worries. But for me it was public speaking.

The word ‘public speaking’ caused fear and anxiety in my mind. For the first eighteen years of my life I had avoided public speaking wherever physically possible. I’d seen opportunities pass me by at school. But in my graduation college I was offered a chance of being a part of welfare society. I had to stand and talk about the need of public awareness. My interest in doing something good for the society made me face my fear. I took it as a challenge and went up to the podium. Everything felt awkward, sweaty palms, wobbly knees, everything. I was running over my opening lines in my head. But all I wanted to think about was the previous year, when a friend of mine had been through the same process and he stood smart, confident and ready for action. I stuttered a bit in the beginning. I got even more nervous. But then the members motivated me. This boosted up my confidence. I remember myself speaking for almost three minutes. I was proud of myself. Since then I started practicing public speaking at home. I used to make notes on something and speak on them in front of the mirror. I would record myself and listen to it later. I even started hosting family functions. All these things have played a major role in making me proficient in coming up on stage and interacting with people.

The important thing was that I took it as a challenge, I went for it and I got through. Practicing to overcome rather than to avoid your fears is what makes you a better version of yourself.
