A US $44.3 billion corporation, the Aditya Birla Group is active in 14 industry sectors and has achieved global and national leadership in several businesses. The group was founded by Seth Shiv Narayan Birla in 1857 and presently it operates in 35 countries with more than 120,000 employees worldwide. The presence of Aditya Birla group is very wide, be it infrastructure, clothing, textile and many others. It being an Indian multinational conglomerate has become an important part in everyone's life in one way or another. The Aditya Birla Health Insurance has been an integral part of my life. When I first started looking for health insurance, many options came up, but Aditya Birla Health Insurance offered the best health plan with reasonable price. The service provided by them is without any hindrance and the hospitals under the insurance plan are very cooperative. They not only cover expenses related to health issues in India, but also cover international health expenditures. The process of issuance is very user friendly, where one can avail the insurance from his or her home directly.
The values and the success of the Aditya Birla Group can be traced back to the inspiring ideals and vision of two legendary leaders, Mr. Ghanshyam Das Birla, the founding father and the man who set up many of pre-Independent India’s critical industries & Mr. Aditya Vikram Birla, the man who established the first India-based multinational, putting India on the world Map. These two established the foundation of the Group in India and overseas.
My story of dealing with the challenges,
In 2016-17, I was part of the Rashtrapati Bhawan’s Smart Gram Initiative Team and was sent to village Taj Nagar, Gurugram to perform various activities like organizing lectures, promoting entrepreneurship, promoting Swach Bharat Initiative, Education counselling to village children and many other activities in Taj Nagar and 9 nearby villages. During my stay there, I came across many situations of moral conflicts as the way of life and beliefs in a village are very different from that of a city. In one of such situations, when I went to the village school I came to know that many students didn’t receive there Aadhar card even after months of registration, when I inquired more about it, I came to that there is a CSC (Common Service Centre) in the village which was set up to do all the internet related works including the work related to Aadhar Card, but the person in charge of the CSC unit of the Taj Nagar Village is never available in its office and the CSC is originally on the name of his wife, who knows nothing about computer. I was very much shocked when I came to know about all of this. Thus, I went to visit that person and his wife, when I met them and their children, I came to know that there financial status is very poor and because of this the person has to do multiple jobs and is not able to give proper time to the CSC unit and its work and the salary they receive because of the CSC unit is a major earning of their family making them very much depended on it. Thus, I was facing a big conflict on the basis of moral grounds on what should I do next, I had two options, one was to make a complaint against that person and his wife or to let things be as it is. In both the options, either it will affect the life of that CSC person and its family a lot or it will be depriving the village of CSC. Finally, I decided to not make a complaint, but to have a talk with the CSC person, I met him with my team and informed him about other activities he and his wife can do in parallel with the CSC work to generate income, without affecting the functioning of CSC. So I was able to come up with a solution to come out of that moral conflict between two situations.
